Run down hotel pictures are deceiving.
The bartenders were nice. Everyone else was terrible, careless, everything was for additional fee, no where to really walk to a side from the beach. The view from the 6th floor is nice but that’s all. The pictures are so skewed. It’s a run down hotel, only thing they have going for them is the view but after staying there I didn’t care because everything else was terrible.
Everything was terrible. It’s a 10 min / $4 euro ride to the airport but beware the taxis waiting at that hotel taxi stand will say minimum $19 Euro charge when they drop you off at the airport of course they don’t tell you that upfront. Get an Uber instead. also if you planning on walking around there is nothing to walk to. 1 grocery market and 2 salty shitty cafes up the street. And 3 beach bars that are good but after eating there 2 times the novelty disappears.
Not as clean, no electricity or water for half a day
I liked the location
The beds were aweful. When they would clean they would just make the bed, not sweep and not change the sheets. We did not have electricity and water for half a day and when we asked about it they said “what?!” We politely asked about it and they said it would eventually turn back on. We could not get ready and lost half a day in Spain. Horrible for the price and I am not picky!
stay somewhere else
this hotel made me appreciate Airbnb much more.
the staff were very poor, there were no pleasantries at all from any of the staff. we arrived late at the hotel and the receptionist took over 15 minutes to check us in. she was taking calls and chatting to other staff while her incompetence with the computer system dragged on. the reason i booked the hotel was because of a very good experience with the same chain in Valencia but this was awful. there was no milk in the room, so later, when we asked the receptionist if some could be sent to our room, she said no, as she was on her own there and the bar was closed. do hotels store all their milk in the hotel bar? even the UHT shite? the shower head in the gym fell off the wall when the water was turned off, and whacked my head on the way down. the guy in the gym collecting the towel deposits had no interest in what is a dangerous defect. also, the changing rooms for the gym are tiny. at the most there is space for 2 people at a time to use them. while checking out, the guy on reception that morning behaved like everyone was inconveniencing him. if he can't act like he can deal with the public, then he should be given some other task. we parted with our own money and did not receive anything resembling a thank you, or goodbye. just pay up and GTFO. the hotel is miles away from anything, so it was a 15 minute drive into Malaga to get some food after we checked in. we asked reception if they could recommend anywhere to eat, and their answer was Torremolinos. nothing too specific then! a hotel chain should have much higher expectations of its staff. there are plenty of small, independent hotels that work much harder with smaller budgets and achieve much more than this place.
