Good Riad with a great deal of character
Riad is not in the best location and difficult to find!
Beautifully furnished. Very comfortable room. Nice breakfast. Feels like working into the old time.
Bath room is relatively small compares to the very spacious bedroom and living room. Hot water comes and goes.
Historical riad located in the very center of Fes medina. Nice patio and big rooms.
A bit tricky to reach, expecially at night time since the medina could be unsafe for lonely travellers.
Excellent luxurious hotel, combining morrocan style with elements of modern comfort and technology.
The place is just amazing... no words to describe it... I am not used to this standard so it was fantastic to stay there!
Staff need some training about quality of service, location is difficult to find: it can put off some people to go there but it was ok in the end!
one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed.
It's incredibly beautiful. The staff is perfect, friendly, respectful, helpful.
Absolutely not, though some people might find the absence of tv's and such in the room a problem. However, there are luxury suites that are out of this world, but it's a small hotel, maybe 10 rooms Maximum.
The staff were very helpful, and the authenticity of Dar El Gharlia was as we had hoped for, the food was good, and breakfast served on the roof top terrace was a nice touch.
Access from the main st. through the medina to the hotel is poorly marked and can be intimidating
The indoor courtyard is wonderful, it looks like a movie. One night we had dinner at the hotel and the food was great, but very expensive. The location if you want to stay inside the Medina is good, but after our visit to Fes I strongly recommend everyone to stay outside (in the modern city) and go to the Medina for daily walks.
We (2 couples) were really dissapointed.. the rooms are small and not too clean. Both bathrooms were extremely uncomfortable and the water was everywhere after each shower. A/C was not working, the door didn't close very well.. etc, etc. The hotel staff was not helping at all, not only about these problems but also was not able to help us to rent a car.
Place where is located is very difficult to find. But that is unavoidable if your preference is inside of the Medina, which I recommend. There is not much to see in Fez outside the Medina. If you call the hotel, they will send somebody to help you in the curve side, some 500’ on a very difficult hallway.
With a stay at Dar El Ghalia, you'll be centrally located in Fes, within a 5-minute drive of Blue Gate and Place R'cif. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a computer station, and express check-in. For a surcharge, guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours) and a train station pick-up service.
