Solid bet for downtown Arequipa
I really liked this place since I'm on a budget, and they offered a solid room with decent hot water and fairly strong internet for $13-14US. Also, they coffee available at all times, a good thing for a coffee addict like me. The best part is the location, halfway between the market and the main plaza. The older of the two employees is much nicer than the younger one. Also, this is the second time that I've been in a hotel that says all over the place in Spanish "please shut the door quietly." As I've said before, the national pastime of Peru is slamming doors (must be something macho guys do to show they're "cool"), and I appreciate that this hotel tries to discourage it!
The only downside to this place (besides no breakfast) is that some of the employees give you the typical Peruvian treatment of "goddammit, I'm flirting on WhatsApp, why are you asking me questions" treatment. This is more of a cultural issue than a particular issue with this hotel, though!
With a stay at Casa de Isabel in Arequipa (Historical Center), you'll be within a 10-minute walk of Arequipa Plaza de Armas and San Camilo Market. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.
