A Navy town with excellent culture and fun. Welcome to the newly renovated Hampton Inn Norfolk-Naval Base. If all the frigates, destroyers, carriers and ships didn't give it away, surely the word "Norfolk" let you know you're in a Navy town. The area around the Hampton Inn hotel in Norfolk-Naval Base is home to the largest naval base in the world. And as our name suggests, the base is just minutes from our hotel in Norfolk. Once you've watched the ships pull out, explored the Nauticus Maritime Museum and poked about the amazing lengths of the USS Wisconsin, don't miss the collection of our world-class art museum, the Chrysler Museum. Show your Monarch pride by stopping at Old Dominion University for the latest home game whether it’s Football in the fall or Basketball in the spring. For our young scholars, check out the ODU PREVIEW and orientation schedules. You might also consider taking a driving trip of Hampton Roads or catching a concert by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. And if you want to get out on the water yourself, the Chesapeake Bay is just six miles from our hotel in Norfolk. Just make sure to yield right-of-way to those ships! We think once you've explored Norfolk, you'll agree it's a Navy town with excellent culture and fun. Here at the Hampton Inn Norfolk-Naval Base, we're passionate about taking good care of you.
