Value for money, good breakfast, reasonable paid parking underground
Nothing in particular
I stayed twice in NH Leipzig Messe. This is a good quality hotel of international standard, friendly staff and it is very reasonably priced. WiFi internet is available from rooms and is free (though the hotel's guide says that internet is payable). I has underground parking (paid separately). Near by is Globus shopping centre (ATMs). Due to its proximity to freeway the hotel is ideal when travelling by car.
It is showing decades of hotel experience in design and operation. Functional, comfortable and no nonsense. Four choices of scrambled eggs at breakfast. Good price including breakfast outside Messe season! Elevator is going from parking cellar to room floor with secutity stop at ground level. Four lane road is leading to center. Park at HBF-Ost for 5 Euro a day at 1st floor and walk straight into shopping area in renovated railroadstation.
In Leipzig in august 2010 are subway works and renovation work underway, blocking the center partly.
Pluses: good value for the money, clean.
Minuses: far from downtown, could hire more English-speaking staff.
It's within walking distance of a grocery store.
It's a 8 minute walk to the nearest Public transportation and a Taxi ride(16 euro) is required after Midnight to get back to the hotel.
Good service all is O.K.
Position is comfortable for all Businessmen working with the Leipzig Messe: just 5 minutes walking for reaching the exhibitor's halls. Around there, lots of shops and a huge Supermarket. The Hotel itself has no other good points.
Price is absolutely unfair for the Hotel services and quality. Staff is unpolite and doesn't speak english so well to communicate with foreign customers. Room temperature is crazy hot and reception staff reply to this complaint was "Sleep with your window wide open", result: we all caught a cold. Also Left wing is facing the Highway, noisy all night. Reception staff refused to change our money (small notes into big notes and coins into small notes), and refused to give us some extra supplies (an extra box of plastic bags for napkins which we needed to wrap up some fragiles purchased at the Messe). Breakfast price is just too expensive. Food quality, morning trough dinner is really poor, even for Germany. This hotel hardly is a First Class..
The hotel staff were very professional and polite, the room was very clean and comfortable. We didn't have time to make use of the additional facilities, so cannot make any comment about them. There is nothing I could say was outstanding, but the general standard was very high and well in keeping in it's class.
A bit out of the way. OK for car or business users, but there is a 10 minute walk from the nearest tram stop. I had good weather, so this wasn't a big problem.
it's far from the centre, perfect for visiting the Messe
Everything was fine.
Elevators, sometimes we had to wait few minutes to reach a desired floor or the restaurant. Software should be reprogramed to increase efficiency of this kind of transport to avoid unpleasent up and down rides .
A welcoming retreat for business, exhibition, and leisure travelers, NH Leipzig Messe has medieval, German, and European history right on its doorstep. Located in the Wiederitzsch area, hotel guests can enjoy short walks to the Leipzig Trade Fair, Congress Center Leipzig, and the Leipzig Messe Bahnhof station for trams to city center sites. A short drive or S-Bahn tram ride connects visitors with Zoo Leipzig, Gewandhaus Orchestra, and Hauptbahnhof Leipzig train station and shopping mall. Historic Nikolaikirche, Völkerschlachtdenkmal, and the 15th century restaurant, Auerbach’s Kellar, are also only a short distance from the hotel. Built with the business traveler in mind, the hotel boasts a staggering 19 meeting rooms, which can accommodate gatherings of up to 320 people. The facilities provide state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment and ample hospitality options. The hotel’s 308 warmly decorated rooms include tea and coffee-making facilities, free Wi-Fi, and flatscreen TVs. Some of the rooms offer garden views. The hotel hosts an extensive breakfast buffet that will satisfy all appetites and includes hot items cooked to order. The modern NH Leipzig Messe Restaurant serves lunch and dinner with a focus on German fare. The hotel bar invites guests to relax over regional beers, wine, and cocktails.
