缺點： "Pax are advised to show up at least 3 hours before flight. My wife and I showed up 3hrs 45 min before takeoff. There were perhaps 40 to 50 people already in line ahead of us. But no checkin counters were open. The first check-ins began 3 hours prior to take off. By that time the line was backed all the way out into the main corridor. It would be MUCH better for ANA and the customer to begin the checkin process 3.5 to 4hours prior instead of 3."

So when I arrived at the Thai Airways counter to load in my bags I asked the Thai Airways representative about the missing information. His response was that he could not get into the ANA system and that I have to go to the ANA counter to ask for that information. Given that my layover in Narita was only about 45mins landing to going to the gate, I was not comfortable with not knowing if I would be on that flight or not. The Thai Airways representation at the boarding counter did help me a bit and got in touch with a guide in Narita to help me get my luggages and get to gate properly. I wanted to note that we did not arrive in Narita on time due to the high air traffic so the plane had to circle around for 15 mins. When we finally landed I had about 15 mins to get through the custom and ran to my gate. When I received my ticket I was shocked that I got a middle seat on a 13 hours flight! If I have known this earlier I would have paid for a better seat, but since I was not able to check-in online and didn't receive any info about this flight prior to boarding I was not allowed to change on this full flight. In addition, the plane ride was awful. The food was disgusting and the seat was very uncomfortable. The seat did not even recline back! I don't expect much from a short distance flight but for a 13 hour long flight, I at least expect the seat to be slightly better than sitting on a rock against a brick wall. All in all, this was a HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE I went through. The stress and the discomfort on the plane was an experience that no one should ever feel while traveling. It was an awful nightmare on an ANA flight. I would like a refund on this flight with no exceptions. Sincerely, Jessica Saesue"

Also it was not possible to get the boarding pass for this flight online and select seats. This was brand new information for us. Nor China Southern, nor KLM nor Kayak did inform us about this at anytime. This never happened to us and if we knew in advance we would not have booked this connection (one in Amsterdam and one in Chengdu). Passengers need to be informed about this! Some people mentioned this is Chinese state policy, still not sure about this though. * Horrible transfer experience: In summary we were on ourselves, information was absent or just plain wrong by the ground staff at Chengdu airport. Which resultet in us queuing in 3 different lanes. Even in the first lane we queued, following official signs for transfer, the first staff told us we can queue here but then the lady at the counter (after 30min queueing) told us to go somewhere else instead. We had to wait in the rain to take a shuttle bus to another terminal. There we then queued at a China Southern counter, but it turned out to be incompatible with our ticket (booked with China Southern but operated by China Eastern - not communicated to us). Hence we queued yet again at a China Eastern counter which was eventually the correct one. Common to all this was the negative attitude of all staff which basically didn't care at all and were just incompetent. Note that this was not a language issue, as one of us is fluent in Chinese. * Once boarded the plane, which was 25% full, we were even disallowed to change seats due to "weight balance issue" (which seems to be just a joke given the weight of the airplane itself...). Note that the check-in agent explicitely told that because the plane is half-full we can just freely select an empty seat - yet another false information. * Conclusion: 1. Transparent information is they key for making a booking decision. 2. Do not fly via Chengdu airport. This will just ruin your trip. This airport is not ready to serve as international transfer spot."
優點： "Compared to my most recent experience with Air China this crew, food and comfort were far superior. Admittedly that's a very low hurdle but this crew was quite good. Considering experience with three different flights the previously arranged wi-fi worked on none."
缺點： "Unfortunately terminal personnel for mainland Chinese airlines have so far been horrible across the entire spectrum. Customer service never enters their minds. My reserved business class seat was given away because I did not check in at the gate in Shanghai before others. I don't know how that would be possible to accomplish when I checked in for the flight (same ticket) around 11 hours earlier in Kota Kinabalu. My connecting flight from Kota Kinabalu arrived over 3 hours prior to this flight departing and my checked bag did not make it onto this aircraft. When asked just about any question the answer was "we don't know" even when the answer is readily available. E.g. when asked whether the aircraft at the gate was that which we would be taking--same answer. I would hope it's not universal with these airlines but so far it's 2 for 2 considering my flights with Air China and China Eastern--they just don't seem to care about their customers. I've flown multiple times with EVA (Taiwan based) and never experienced such conduct."

Otherwise, they could have gotten us on to our destination free of charge(minus the unexpected hotel stay). i have never really liked your shorthand style itinerary and if you choose to continue to play loosey goosey, I will not choose your website again. Additionally, I strongly feel that you should be held responsible for your lack of information, especially when traveling thru a foreign country."

After an airport employee (not affiliated with China Eastern) spoke to the China Eastern rep, the rep claimed there was no problem all along. I was in a Changsha, China at the time so few employees spoke English. Luckily my girlfriend sole Chinese otherwise this would’ve been a much worse experience."

Eventually I bought an additional ticket directly to the city of the final leg of my itinerary so as to avoid the visa restrictions on multi-city layovers. Only to find that China Eastern would NOT honor the ticket from Kunming to Vancouver as I had not been on the first two legs. Again, no solution was offered and no refund provided from China Eastern, Kayak or Justfly."
