I went to check into my room after having lunch. I said I would meet a coworker there. I got there and our waitress came out and talked to me in a very loud voice saying that none of us had paid for lunch, and that it was going to come out of her salary, and that I had to give her my charge card and pay for all the lunches. I told her that was not so as I saw each of us settle up our tabs. I turned around to leave and went down the escalator after I saw my friend was not there and got another text that he was downstairs. She followed me downstairs loudly saying that we had not paid our bills and that she was going to call security. At the bottom of the escalator she found security. They all followed me back upstairs and by then my friend that I was supposed to meet joined us. I was a bit upset because I knew we all paid our bills. He was pretty calm and said what will it take to just get this taken care of for now so we can meet our friends for dinner and will come back later. She just kept insisting there was nothing that could be done except to pay for all three lunches. It was also interesting that as soon as I got to my room there was a phone call verifying that I was just eating in the restaurant and I still wonder if that was not part of the scam. We finally got through to a manager. After explaining the story again, she went over to a register and looked and found all three of our signed receipts for lunch. She admitted that I should never have been treated like that and guess what, all of our lunches are comped on her! Although it was very unnerving, everything turned out well and the hotel room was just fine.
The room was a perfect size, bathroom is kind of small and dated but the view was incredible and the staff was amazing. We had an issue with something called casting where you can view videos on the TV, to be honest, I really didn't care about it but my wife did. The tech support team was great, they came right up when we reported the problem, determined it wasn't going to work and they offered us 3 free movie coupons for our inconvenience. On our last day at the hotel, our flight didn't leave till 7 pm, we asked for a 4pm late checkout and despite the fact the hotel was booked solid, they gave it to us. I stay at this hotel most of the time I travel to SF, it's a great location, reasonably priced with lots of restaurants and stores at ones fingertips and the Bart station right outside the door making getting to and from SFO painless and inexpensive!

The additional 29.00 added for destination per Room this will deter me from staying in the City of San Francisco and stay in another city and just come to the city in the day time, don’t add me no charges extra!
Great location. Disappointing service.
Unresponsive staff. Examples: (1) concierge and room service rang out after trying repeatedly reach them for 10 and 15 minutes; (2) waitstaff in bar/dining area was slow and inattentive; (3) we needed 2 extra blankets and they initially resisted until we convinced them we were using all the blankets in the room and were still cold; (4) the food and beverages were overpriced and barely mediocre.
Location excellent, room spacious, staff friendly. An excellent stay!
Price a bit high, bathroom could use renovation (but was perfectly functional). A light in the closet would be very helpful.
Older facility with mediocre service
The lobby area inside us very beautiful, yet it's not that unique anymore compare to some of the newer hotels. Location is very good, right access from ferry building and many good restaurants.
Room needs renovation. Restroom is small, couldn't find light switch when we get in the room. Booked king bed room and was given a double bed room, staff told us nothing they could do. They did give us some credit but only end up buying some water, because there is none in the room.

Hyatt Regency Embarcadero
The hotel atrium remains spectacular. Great location in financial district, overlooking the bay, a walking distance from Fisherman's Wharf, but be aware that many restaurants and coffee shops in the immediate vicinity of the hotel are closed on Sunday.
Bathrooms are small and outdated. Overnight parking is $34.00.
