Location was only good thing
Front desk staff - mainly evening time not helpful at all . Seemed to not care. No parking on site for free as advertised
Cheapest hotel available that close to Riverwalk. Breakfast was included. Furnishings are worn, but clean.
Small, dark parking area (which you pay for.) AC in room asks to not turn below 74 (Texas is hot, even in October). No ice machine on 2nd floor.
I liked how close it was to the river walk and the scenery was marvelous!
I didn't like that the door was so close to the toilet.
Parking was horrible. Accommodations were cramped.
cozy feel continental breakfast was adequate (Texas-shaped waffles) clean rooms close to Riverwalk and walking distance from downtown attractions well-mannered staff
I enjoyed the location walking distance to San Antonio Riverwalk. Shuttle & City bus. Used Shuttle to AT&T Areana for the Houston & San Antonio basketball game. Loved the biege robes and breakfast.
Missing refrigator & microwave in the room. Requested a queen bed had a double double beds.???
Close to Riverwalk and Alamodome. Room was pretty comforting.
Roaches in the restroom. Traffic noise was noticable, hard to sleep comfortably through the night with that.
Close to Riverwalk activities
The history of the hotel, nearness to the river, shopping, hemisphere; so we could walk where ever we wanted to go.
Chair in the room needed repair, crack in ceilling
Proximity to the Riverwalk was great; the hotel was very close and at just a block away there wasn't quite as much hustle and bustle outside of the hotel. It seemed to be very safe to walk to and from the Riverwalk even at night. The continental breakfast was great! Lot's of options.
The windows are old and don't seem to keep out much of the street noise the the buses and trolleys. The set-up for the breakfast area is small so you usually had to wait awhile on other people to get your food in the morning.
The OBrien Hotel is located in the Riverwalk area. The most sought-after location in Downtown San Antonio. It is a midscale boutique, classic, petit hotel. Only 39 rooms. It is a historic building an it is every bit as good as the best historic hotels downtown but much more reasonably priced. This is because it is just one building south of the Riverwalk instead of being directly on it, but that just makes it much, much quieter, especially on weekend nights. The O'Brien offers a free hot breakfast, which many higher-priced properties do not, and if you get a balcony room, you can eat it watching the sun rise behind Hemisfair Tower, which is a sight you can only see in San Antonio. The hotel is also perfect for attendees of the Convention Center. Just 4 blocks away. The Alamodome for mayor sports and concerts events is 6 blocks away. The heart of Downton is the Alamo Plaza, where the State of Texas was born, and it is 5 blocks away. Mayor attractions of Downtown are within walking distance and you dont need a car. Rooms have a refrigerator and microwave which would make it perfect for an extended stay or if you wanted to keep leftovers from the many excellent restaurants nearby and heat them up later. It is the perfect location for families of the military attending graduation ceremonies or visiting troops of the many military bases and hospitals in San Antonio. The hotel is also very close to all court houses and federal buildings in Downtown San Antonio. Parking rates are easily half that of higher-priced hotels but much more convenient for in-and-out. Linens, furnishings and accessories are all first-rate, and service is attentive and kindly, in keeping with the true meaning of "boutique hotel." This is an excellent choice for someone new to San Antonio, or for an old hand.
