Conveniently located so you can drive to almost anywhere to hike, go to the beach or shop. Lots to eat around within a short drive. Priced much lower than Santa Cruz hotels.
Beware of all of the doors not letting you in. The exterior doors will not work 9/10 with your key card. Swapped key cards multiple times at the front desk and that didn't solve anything. Only 1 key card would work and if I went out to take my dogs out (btw no poop bags at all even though they say they do, bring your own) I wouldn't be able to get back in. I had to call my husband to come and open the door for me multiple times and then our room key took several times to work. This hotel needs to fix it's exterior door key card locks! It made what would have been a good stay a really annoying one, especially when you are carrying things in and have to spend 10 or more minutes hoping the door will open. Also the AC does not work well. The thermostat says it's lower than it actually is and there is no way to override it. The fridge is terrible. It doesn't keep things cool. We used it for a few waters and Gatorades and you have to push the button every few hours for it to cool. Luckily we didn't bring anything perishable or it would have went bad. Also the vending machines were empty on every floor for drinks. No signs were up. I went to every floor to see and none of them had anything in there. It would have been nice to see a sign and not waste time trying. Overall the staff was very friendly and accommodating but the things listed were just too much to make it a good stay. Hilton needs to fix the key cards, recalibrate their AC thermostats, fix their fridges, and at least post signs that vending machines are not being filled.
Nice clean place, friendly faces, comfortable bed and quiet night!
Good location between Boulder Creek and Santa Cruz. Used to be a fine Hotle but has declined seriously.
An overall pattern of careless indifference to our comfort made this the opposite of a typical Hilton experience. While one or two glitches are understandable, service was skimpy, or downright bad, most of the time. Worst we our two unasked for wale up calls at 5 A:M both days, even after we called and asked them not to. Then there was the Series of Nos : No water glasses. A $3 charge to deliver our “free” water bottle as Gold members. No room service menus in the room, no replacement of coffee we drank or shower caps used. By the time the poor dogs in the next door room started their lonely howling, we were more than glad to be checking out and sure we would not return. We’ve come here for years but will have to look for a different hotel next time.
I liked the channels on the tv. There were a lot. Not like other hotels. I also liked the arrangement of the room with the little sitting area
softer towels
Comfortable stay
Overall friendly and helpful staff, checking in and out was easy. Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. HBO included. There is a pool, hot tub, gym and laundry rooms.
Unfortunately, my room did not have a bath tub. I was really looking forward to taking a relaxing bath the night I stayed there. Crevice at bottom of front door didn’t make the room entirely dark. Staff were a bit too noisy in the hallways in the morning.
Conveniently located to the highway. Daily complimentary bottled water for Hilton Honors guests.
Staff was curt; housekeeping changed bath mat and towels, but did not clean the bathroom (toilet, sweep floor) or refresh toiletries during my 3-night stay. Noisy panel in ceiling near door. Also, bed was not made after night 2. I reported to front desk that speaker on phone was not operating and it was not addressed. Suggest stairs from tiered parking lots so that pedestrians do not have to walk on driveway where vehicles drive.
Great for families with kids & small pets
I arrived for a 3 night 4 day stay over 4th of July The front desk was friendly however, not overly informative as I had heard them be to one of their preferred Hilton points member which was awkward. The layout of the hotel is clearly inconvenient. To get to my room on the 6th floor it required me to take an elevator to the 4th floor walk across to the other side of the building and take the 2nd elevator to the 6th walk across to the other end to reach my room. The room was clean and nice just like the pictures. The view after you got over the parking lot was beautiful of the mountains. For those who need it this hotel is "super dog friendly" and "family / little children" friendly as well. As a single older adult I did not appreciate that the pool and hot tub was filled with kids no matter what time of the day you went. Two pools on the property would have been great. Room service was exceptional, prompt reasonable and delicious I ordered a BLTA and it was well prepared they even added a fruit cup you could tell a chef prepared my meal. However, on my last morning I again ordered from room service. Same order but this time someone slapped a sandwich together used shredded lettuce on a BLTA ?? Who does that? I did also go to the cafe for morning breakfast $15 buffet it had a pretty good selection. The welcoming staff lacked enthusiasm to welcoming you in. The bar area was great and Christy, Kim and Alex were attentive and personable. I did manage to lock myself out of my room as I put the room service tray out into the hall. I approached the hotel maid who was cleaning the room next door. She was a petrified deer in the head lights gal as I explained my situation. She proceeded to tell me: 1) she didn't have a phone to call the front desk for me 2) she wouldn't use the room phone to call the front desk nor would lil suzanna allow me to use that phone. 3) sorry no can help was her response 4) I found the house phone at the other end of the floor and called the front desk they stated tell the maid that so n so said it was ok to open the door I returned to the maid she replied ok and kept vacuuming clueless to our conversation I had with her 5) I gave her a few minutes to finish the task at hand & walked back to the maid to say helllooo can you open the door? She then LIED that her key doesn't open any of the rooms. REALLY? Then how did you open every room on the floor? 6) I walked back to the house phone reexplained my situation they said they would send someone with a master key. 7) 25 min later still no one so I took the long walk and 2 elevators later to the front desk barefoot to top it off the hallway connecting the elevators had just been shampoo'd so now my feet are wet yuck!!! So I got two new keys and got back in my room lesson learned!!! 15 min later an additional room key was shoved under my door purpose???? For the price this place isn't as luxurious as the pics suggests Needless to say, I won't be back!
Didn't clean our room. Downgraded us from a king to two queens.
Conveniently located to the highway. Friendly front desk staff. Parking was convenient with multiple options in front and back of hotel. Ease of use with the restaurant/lounge in the lobby.
Housekeeping staff was noisy in the hallway speaking to each other. They started knocking on doors at 9am to clean the room when checkout is at noon. Also the AC unit in the room made a loud clunking noise when turning on and off.
Great hotel just one surprisingly poor attitude go
Pool and spa Gym Security Room Grounds all fantastic
Then there was one employee that called himself the manager on duty. Now Ive been in management for 30 years and I would have to say that even at a fast ood establishment would have at the least suspended this individual with a written warning if they were worth keeping as an employee. His name is Kenny and he wad rude and condescending and wasn't willing to do anything to make it easier or more convenient for me. Not very Hilton like in my opinion.
Great stay
The location. Quiet and tastefully decorated. Loved the blackout curtains We wished they had given us enough towels as we were three people. I was able to hunt down a housekeeper and she was very accomodating
The rooms are quiet, good-sized, and have light blocking curtains.
Location was good for our drive up the coast. Nice woodland view location, good meals and a great breakfast.
Service was poor
Yes. The ice machine was very loud outside of our room. I specifically asked for a quiet room.
The hotel is away from the town in a quiet location with good facilities including outdoor heated swimming pool and plenty of free parking.
The house staff was very good; the rooms, bed, pillows were very comfortable.
