The ambience, clean lines and very friendly staff
Chef sent my dessert out (tarte tatin) so black it was charred; unbelievable. I tasted it anyway however it was inedible and I had no choice but send it back. I was offered a coffee and an apology but for a rosett rated restaurant this was disappointing. Also no mirror over dressing table in bedroom, a very basic functional thing that tends to get overlooked.
Small bathroom--only 1 bath towel in twin room.
Hotel understaffed, railway and station accross road, very noisy expresses during the night. On my second morning i decided to have breakfast,i had prunes tea and toast, waited over half an hour and waiter never came to take my cooked breakfast order.i could not wait any longer, too expensive at £15.00 for breakfast
Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent room, clean and with good facilities. Good quality food with an extensive but expensive menu. However, there was a good menu of the day which was excellent. Nice bar area which was busy the day I was there. Would recommend.
Wireless internet was not possible in my room as this was at the far point of the range of the router. Access is possible in most areas. If you are there on business I suggest you make sure you have a room with a strong signal.
A pleasant and spacious bedroom etc for the price. A good dinner, with interesting and well presented food that merits its GFG and AA ratings and a sensible and fairly priced wine list structured to get you to what you are looking for. Easy to reach the NEC but a long way away from the usual grim conference experience!
bed and tea-coffee making facilities, Molton Brown toiletries
Walk up stairs to room with heavy luggage, room v. small, noisy (party until midnight below my room)
really flexible staff who helped us overcome a problem with our booking via booking.com
one room was not yet re-decorated. However they explained that and gave it at a lower rate
the food was fabulous: the welcome was good and the help great: the room was quiet, warm and comfortable; the shower excellent
the room smelt of smoke and there was a cigarette burn in the bathroom: the bedside light did not work
The location was good, loved the modern decor, excellent Restaurant, easy access to the NEC. Will definetly stay there again.
No hot water in one of the rooms and a party going on down stairs which we were not informed about so had to put up with late music past 12 midnight.
