Dingy
The bed was horribly uncomfortable, creaked everytime you moved. Staff, unfriendly n unhelpful Bad
Basically a bath house
Nothing at all.
Single thin mattress on wood platform. Room in 6' wide with no ceiling, just chicken wire. Three common bathrooms per floor are disgusting. Rotting ceilings in number of areas. No elevator. Drug addicts and hookers walking round. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!'
Terrible nightmare
i got to help out a friend in need.
This place was just bad. Bed beds. Public washroom. No tv. No windows. Rude staff. Dirty. Do not book a room here unless it's your last choice and you're totally broke. I could have pocketed the cash and gotten better sleep in my car and cleaner with a packet of baby wipes. The staff was so rude I think they may have been on work release from jail. I didn't even want to shower it was so gross. I think the rest of the hotel guests may have been on meth they seemed content. For $100.00 bucks it was not money well spent. STAY AWAY.
Cheap-ish but Noisy and Small
The location was nice. Easy access to Subway and walkable to China Town and Little Italy. The price was affordable for staying in Manhattan. The hotel provided towels, shampoo, travel tooth brush and tooth paste. The bathrooms are shared but generally we didmt have to wait long for an opening. Also they are spacious and cleaned daily. This is a decent place if you are traveling alone and just looking for a cheap please to sleep.
The room was very small (6'x9'). The mattress springs were squeaky and uncomfortable. There sheets and comforter were stained. Only on of the outlets worked. The room had a small fan but NO WINDOW and very little room to move around as the double bed took up most of the space. All that said our biggest complaint was the noise. There is no sound insulation. We were in a room in the middle of the hallway and we could hear talking from adjacent rooms, all of the movement in the hallway, doors opening and closing and even street noise (sirens, large trucks). If you are a light sleeper this is definitely not the place for you.
It wasn't that bad. Don't expect the Ritz, its a hostel. They cleaned it everyday and there weren't bugs. It's a small room, but it's a single. It is loud and bright but earplugs and eyemask worked fine. They keep the windows open so it can get drafty but keeps it from getting too smelly. There are shared bathrooms but aside from early in morning it was never a problem. And there is NO elevator so your legs get a workout. But staff was great, at $44 a night for 5 nights there's not a cheaper way to stay in Manhattan, you're in heart of Chinatown and Little Italy, lots of culture and super cheap shopping. I'd stay there again.
Terrible
Location
Gross bathrooms with collapsing ceilings, loud and dumb neighbors, too bright to sleep, if the A/C goes out you'll basically suffocate.
Awful
Just position and price are good.
clean in room and very very small
It gave me terrible memory in NY
Nothing
no elevator On constructing For one sentence, This is not a HOTEL Backpackers is better than this
What an unusual place! You walk up four long flights, get a bright and clean though windowless cell, find acceptable bathrooms down the hall, and wonder if it's a good idea. The room has tiny cabinet, light, plugs, mattress, sheets, blanket, pillow, trashcan. You were given soap and shower slippers. The floor is locked and your room is locked. Hardware screen for a ceiling to make the HVAC common to all 80 cells and it works well. A number of students with backpacks giving it a hostel feel, though the lower floors have the same design though much older and occupied by local Chinese. Apparently the design is a tenament style housing for single men. Very interesting. Unusual value for Manhattan. Safe. Don't go for the view.
Proximity to china town
It's worst Hotel which I have come across in my life and it's zero return for money. The rooms were extremely small with roof top open, you cannot speak to anyone being in room. Bathrooms were extremely dirty and wet and no soaps, showers were extremely slow. No Toilet papers, common bathrooms are many but all are occupied cause they have 55 rooms on same floor. Which are shared by everyone. I will never recommend an individual for this room. But the guy at reception was very good. Around the street I came across two guys who have done the booking for same Hotel but at mid-night 2:30 am they were denied room as their Room was given to someone else. So overall extremely poor hotel, without any facilities, open roofs (there's iron mesh which is roof of some 55 rooms) but can be good for students who cannot afford more money from china:-)
You get exactly what you pay for, a very safe, clean and very, very small room about 4 feet wide and 6 feet long. But that is exactly what I wanted, plus an internet connected computer at the end of the hall. Also very, very quiet.
Stairway was a bit dirty and there was no elevator up to 5th floor.
room as cheap
They put me in a cheaper room (that i didn't reserve) and charged me for the room I booked. they filled up all the rooms so i was unable to switch.
Value
Size
Certainly a value for money choice because I could only stay for a few hours there.
Distint (urine) smell in the staircase accessing to the hotel.
The hotel is right in Chinatown, which is one of the most vibrant and interesting neighbourhoods of New York City. There are some great restaurants around.
Read the facilities description carefully: these rooms are about 1.5 x 2 metres -- more like renting a shelf than a room. The bathrooms are shared, and there are no elevators. Perfectly fine for the budget-minded single traveller, but be sure you're comfortable with this!
000
I very wondered, because I charged twice for this hotel: the first I charged after reservation and the second I charged when check-in. I'm very wondered and it's very horrible!
None
I would rather sleep outside than sleeping in this hotel
