We stayed the night Colorado closed for business because of Corona virus. The hotel and staff handled a bad situation well.
No closing Colorado businesses and no virus scares.
Love the theme Of the hotel. The staff was very upbeat and friendly always willing to help. The lobby is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy.
Elevators were very slow. Wasn’t aware of parking validation. Perhaps, a nice steakhouse (even though the restaurant was nice).
Everything! The pictures you see on the website are not accurate. The hotel is old and the rooms are small. You are charged $50.00 a night for amenities of course your refunded what you don’t spend at the end of your stay. Parking was $17.00-$25.00 a night and the parking wasn’t worth it. On our last morning we put out our do not disturb sign and housekeeping still came by early just to see if we were still there.
Tv does not work so if you are staying with kids and being able to watch a show is important to you I would book somewhere else.
Walkable to a lot of different bars and upscale resturaunts.
Everything is very dated, summer of 2017 restaurants closed. Not many kid friendly restaurants in area.
Staff at the front desk welcoming, easy access to the city, comfortable beds and clean rooms.
Check in time was too late, asked for earlier checkin, moved to a room with city view instead of mountain view, still billed the same. Coffee maker could not be plugged in from where it was in our room, took some toying with it to figure it out, then it over flowed one of our two cups.
The process of checking in and out was very easy. The rooms were clean and orderly. The front desk staff members were fantastic!
I couldn't find a laundry room, some of the staff workers in the restaurant were too vocal about their displeasure with what was going on while at work.
Expensive parking.
Good location, friendly staff. Lot of history.
17 bucks a day to park, and they don't comp.
Not a true Hilton.
Location
The cost. To much for to little.
Facility Maintenance Needed, Over Priced
Service from staff was great.
Facility needs a light reno or at least a more dedicated manager. The paint was peeling in the bathroom, caulking around the tub was discolored, the closet doors where heavy (think bulletproof) steel (why?), the lamp shades next to the bed where stained with countless dirty fingers (also missing a screw so the shade would just fall off if rattled to much) and the floors need to be shampoo'd. Look I understand this hotel's style is antique, but maintenance on old time-y looks goes a long way and whoever manages it for this particular hotel is dropping the ball. Service was great, but the prices where not. With the cost of the night, valet and breakfast the total bill for a single night will run you $200. Just not worth it for the small unkept rooms and overpriced amenities that should, honestly today, be included. I travel the the springs often and as much as I enjoy the ambiance and location of this hotel, I wont be wasting money here again.
Room reserved not ready
Nothing
The room we reserved and paid for was not ready when we got there and we didn't check in until about 4:30. Check in time was 3 pm, so they had plenty of time to get our room ready. They told us it would be another hour before the room would be ready. We had Valentines's dinner plans and needed to get ready so they offered us a different room and offered us a discount. The first room they put us in was literally right across from the elevator and was probably the smallest room I have ever seen. I went back down and they gave us a different room, further away from the elevator but not the corner room we paid for and front desk advised we would be compensated for the difference in rate. The next morning we went to go check out and asked for a receipt showing the difference in room rate and they had no knowledge of that happening and that they couldn't give us a receipt. They said because we booked through someone else instead of them, there was nothing they could do. They basically told us we were out of luck. I don't really care how I book the room, the service and expectation should be the same, especially from a four or five star hotel. We will never stay there again or recommend to anyone.
Facility needs to be updated.
