First rate place, second rate treatment
The hotel is hard to find. Even the GPS struggled to get us there. Old world atmosphere, with some unusual and welcome additions; a bottle of whisky at the reception desk to parch the thirst and ease the frustration of locating the place. Another fun touch, a putter and play practice green in the room. It is a nice place but would I stay there again? probably not. It's the little things that matter in a hotel and the dinning reception left us cold. We made dinner reservations and showed up on time, appropriately dressed, only to be kept waiting while others streamed by, were welcomed, and seated. Eventually,We were placed in a back room at what must have been the worst table in the place, center stage, traffic area in a room surrounded by cozy booths. The Food and service excellent, but the second rate treatment left a bad taste. So we move on, to a better experience somewhere else.
Comfort and luxury with a side of cozy!
The rooms were beautiful, clean, and spacious. We arrived early, got a room quickly, and even were upgraded to a suite just like that. The staff treated us like queens and kings, making us feel like part of their family. Everyone was cheerful and helpful during our stay, and the bartenders were eager to talk about local places to see and shop at. A highlight indeed for our Ireland trip.
Old world charm and very polite staff
Staff very helpful to ensure our stay was most enjoyable
Very welcoming, great value and city centre location, but a countryside feel in the beautiful gardens
Perfect staff who were interactive but not overly intrusive. Excellent food in an unstuffy atmosphere. Interesting layout of furnishings and nooks and crannies.
The layout of the bedroom was at times impractical.ie dressing table with no mirror but a TV and hairdryer and the desk with mirror but cluttered with writing and information brochure. So nowhere to put toiletries.
the staff were so friendly and helpful-the food was very good-5 star all the way
comfortable and relaxing and very pleasant
Staff were excellent. Hotel is gorgeous and makes you feel special
There was slight dirt in the room... around the bath grouting and on the wooden slatted blinds in the room (dust). For 5 star this should be up to standard! Other than that it was lovely.
amazing staff, nothing too big a problem, beautiful surroundings.
Very comfortable king size bed, excellent food in Perrotts Restaurant (but wine a bit on the expensive side), lovely swimming pool, hotel in good location within walking distance of city centre.
No tea / coffee making facility in bedroom would be our main complaint. Reception staff on arrival were friendly but while checking in, the girl answered two phone calls, and spoke to other guests around us making us feel a bit in the way.
From start to finish it was very relaxing. The Staff were excellent we initially had a problem with our room the carpet was very gruby, we called reception and they immediately came up and moved us to another room. The food was excellent.
Even though this hotel was rated 5 star i felt the rooms were 4 star standard
Large size rooms and a most attentive and sincere staff.
