Well-stocked mini bar. Cold lemon water in the lobby. The hotel was brand new and very clean.
The bed was hard and the air conditioner was very weak and did not cool the room to my satisfaction. The restaurant food was mediocre and the breakfast bar was way overpriced at 27 Euros per person.
Awful standards, cheap fixtures, cutting corners on everything from in room coffee to linens, more like a budget hotel
The location and the atmosphere of the hotel.
We needed to ask the staff questions on matters that they should have just informed us. Also, we booked a executive room with access to the lounge which never opened. After searching for an answer to our question, the staff told us to go upstairs to the bar area and they would do something for us. Overall, we were very disappointed in the customer service and the hotel not fulfilling what they had offered.
Location is very good with great view to the city (if you can get a room overlooking the city center). Very helpful and plesant staff. Very comfortable beds, with a choice of pillow type.
The 4euros/hour internet service is somehow expensive. If you don't include breakfast in your reservation then it is difficult to get a coffee in the morning (no bar service). In addition, the 20euros charge for breakfast is on the expensive side.
convenience & comfort
excellent view over the city
parking place very expensive, even if there was no lack of space (more expensive than in Venice (IT)!)
Comfortable spacious room, impeccable cleanliness, great location for European institutions
Sterile modernist decor and bright, undimmable lights may not be to everyone's liking. Limited TV offer - especially for international guests.
Very friendly staff, great value, modern design
Lack of English outside of front desk
Everything was OK, no complaints
Very modern hotel, good furniture; good breakfast. Sightseeing bus stops in front of hotel.
Expensive public parking; rather long walk to down town area.
The hotel is very new, and therefore in good order, clean, well- presented and with very well furnished bedrooms - the bed was one of the biggest I'd ever seen, and extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was excellent. Of the hotels in the conference district this is probably the best positioned, because it backs directly onto the old fort giving a traffic-free pedestrian route into the town. The pre-opening room rate was a bargain.
The conference district is utterly soulless and often very empty; as a new hotel it is still finding its feet and some things were not well done - for example we noted that the sauna was not on all day, so asked at reception for it to be hot by 8am, and it wasn't done. The bars and restaurants were completely empty, though the staff were attentive, but it wasn't particularly comfortable for the leisure traveller.
Beautiful big room. Everything was new and clean. Hotel staff was friendly.
Breadfast merely acceptable. Next parking garage was not functioning, the next one closing earlier (theoretically at 12 pm, but at 11.55 pm it was already closed). The hotel is near the city centre but actually in the outsides being the sorroundings for me not really cheerful and inviting. Did I have know where it is exactIy, would I have not booked the hotel.
The 4-star superior Meliá Luxembourg Hotel boasts a privileged and strategic location in one of the most elegant districts in the city (Kirchberg), near various European institutions. The hotel is located on the Place de l’Europe; in front of the European Convention Centre Luxembourg and next to the Philharmonie and MUDAM (Museum of Modern Art). With its magnificent services and facilities, the Meliá Luxembourg Hotel is the best choice for both leisure and business travellers.
