They charged me $420 even after the room been paid for don’t go they will continue charging your card with out you knowing then they have no answer to how you getting your money back smh
more and larger pillows. More towel racks. Staff was a little rude at some times. Valet duper expensive. Wifi access was not easy.
Great decor. Cool rooftop bar. Free breakfast.
Sheets were worn and a bit dirty. Bathroom was dirty. I found long hairs on my bath towel.
Want to return when weather is warmer
The room was comfortable and clean, nice size shower, all soaps and shampoo smelled great. Penthouse 808 being on the top floor makes it a better experience for a lively night
Price for parking, fan inside of bathroom didn't work minor things no deal breakers
I would come back!
Location!! It's near everything..To NYC, restaurants, coffee sit-in, lounges, and hottest places to go out.
Room we originally stayed had some problems However management & staff were very accommodating and gaved us another room that was much better with beautiful view of 59th st Bridge to NYC. Would come back!
The staff were great, the area was perfect, and the walk from the train, and to restaurants was not bad at all- there's a free hourly shuttle too but we preferred walking. The price was very reasonable.
There was some construction going on, but it wasn't that noticeable and the club and traffic is audible- that may bother light sleepers...
Very Disappointed with our stay at The Ravel
The only positive aspect of the hotel was that the wedding we were attending was at The Foundry. The other positive aspect was the girl that helped with my luggage. She was very courteous and helpful.
The hotel was under construction and there were no clear signs indicating where to park or where to enter for the main lobby. I drove around the hotel 4 times until I finally called them to get information. You had to find your own parking on the street since there was no valet when I arrived at 4:30 PM. I actually had to call the hotel to inquire about the check in process and the location and called the front desk for the gentleman to come out and get some of my bags. When we went up to the room, there were flies and my husband actually killed about 10 of them. He called the front desk requesting a fly swatter and received no help. We also came back from the wedding and checked out that evening without staying overnight. The bar in the hotel became a nightclub and was very noisy and crowded. We also smelled marijuana in the stairwell of our floorl. It was a very disappointing stay and we will not be paying for our stay there and have requested a refund. Until they finish the construction, they should offer severely reduced rates. I definitely do not recommend this hotel. Stay in Manhattan over the bridge. Might be more reliable.
Best Bang For Your Buck Anywhere Near Manhattan
The best thing about the Ravel is it's proximity to mid town. A free shuttle or 10 minute walk to the nearest subway and you are two stops away from the heart of the city. For half the price of a comparable room in Manhattan you get almost the exact same convenience.
Long Island City is still very much an industrial area. The walk to the subway is past many warehouses and the area is kind of trashed. Fortunately all the streets stay pretty lit up but there is litter all over and you have to switch street sides because of construction.
Recommended to everyone
The rooms are spacious and beautiful, very clean and up to date. The feel of the hotel overall is very trendy and modern. I would come again any time hands down
Because of the intense cold (and not so great insulation) the hall way and restaurant on the first floor were on the chilly side. I know it's petty stuff, but I just thought that being indoors would allow me to walk around without a jacket or sweater, and though I did, I regretted it right away because I was cold.
You get what you pay for
Free Shuttle Rides to local areas and substations. Extremely friendly staff. Very Accommodating. There was a little construction going on locally but hotel fully accomidated any and all needs.
The club on the roof top during the weekend was a little unexpected went until 3/4 if you are trying to sleep at a decent time this place isn't recommended for the weekend.
The hotel was run down requiring millions in renovations. The rooms were unsanitary in every respect. The furniture was terribly stained with cigarette burns all over the couch and chair. The desk was badly damaged. Lamp shades were stained and walls scraped all over with black scuff marks all over the white walls. I had to check out. They wouldn't refund my money but I had no choice.
Do not like anything. Not friendly personnel, dirty room, very noisy. Very far from the subway station. Do not reccomennd to anyone.
Do not reccomend to anyone. On the 6-th floor there is a night club, it was noisy all the night. Even the room was booked four days before, it was given the worst room in the hotel near the entrance to the night club and near the elevator. Couldn't sleep all night long because of noise. The personnel was not friendly and very strange: because of noisy night the personnel proposed as a compensation the free of charge breakfast. When we agreed on that we were told that the breakfast time is over. The room was dirty, the tv remote control didn't work, the air condition system was very noisy. Do not reccomend to anyone at all.
The room was up to date and very nice with a decent city view even though we were on a lower floor. The staff was professional and the free parking was a huge plus. We were actually given an upgrade at no cost!
Our stay was fine, and the lobby was nice, but the hallway and elevator seemed dark and a bit dingy, and made us a little hesitant as to what our room would be like even though the hotel had come highly recommended by a friend. but the room was very nice and a wonderful surprise.
The view of the NYC, cleanliness of the room.
they said the shuttle was free, but we end up paying for it. I asked for extra shampo, and never got it.
I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Ravel Hotel. The Staff where friendly and extremely helpful with any questions I had about the hotel or New York City in general (trust me, there where lots). The rooms where clean, modern, and very spacious with pretty much all the facilities the traveller needs, if not more. The location of the hotel is 10 minutes walk away from the local subway stations. The biggest highlight for me was the view from the rooftop restaurant/bar. It was simply amazing. When I come back to New York City, will I stay at the Ravel Hotel? Most definitely yes
Very friendly staff , nice and modern ,
On Mondays both bars at the hotel are closed , a trip to the city is about 20-30 minutes and there is nothing else in the area . The hotel is very remote , there is practically nothing else there only industry. Felt like a little unsafe area to walk at night . ( hotel did offer free local shuttle service)
Good rooms, really helpful staff, fantastic view from the roof terrace, good to be away from the "toytown" atmosphere of midtown Manhattan.
None really, although it would be nice if the subway stop were about 5 minutes nearer (it's a 10 minute walk).
It was close to where I needed to be in Astoria Queens.
They didnt have enough carts to take your bags up to your room. There wasn't any shower caps in the bathroom .
Pleasant & contemporary.
Location was too far from city. No room service available, cafe had limited choice of food.
Relatively close to main attractions at reasonable price
Lack of breakfast facility
It is a very tasteful designed hotel with beautiful rooms and view on the East River, Manhattan etc. Nice and helpful staff
