Excellent location, short walk to the entrance to Petra.
Plumbing and AC were not working properly. We could hear noisy family next door to our room. Hotel is four star not five.
Rooms were ready before check-in time. We booked two rooms and one room was upgraded. We didn't even ask to have a room upgrade. Excellent breakfast and friendly, helpful staff.
We had no complaints about the Movenpick and would definitely stay again.
Friendly & warm atmosphere, great location.
The fact that we were guided by your front office staff into taking a Petra by night Tour which turned out too difficult in poor lighting & disappointing. As a result we had to skip our original plan for the morning tour. A great pity.
The decor, overall environment, comfort of room.
Service in bars and restraunts felt a little under pressure at times.
The location, the lounge to have a drink
There was no spa
The location is amazing. The design of communal spaces is very elegant
It is not a 5 star hotel as it claims, but more a 4 star. It looks more like a business hotel. The lock of the room was not working. The air conditioning of the room was quite poor. Very very hot at night.
The only reason you would stay here is the location and the wellness facilities including the pool. It was amazing to be able to exit Petra and go right to my room, change and head down to the pool to relax after a long day in the sweltering sun.
The rooms are 3-star quality rather than 5-star quality from the 80s so this needs to be urgently addressed. Everything is over-the-top expensive so the value is terrible. The internet was 7JOD an hour or 20JOD for 24hrs. Takeaway sandwich was disgusting. The staff could be more knowledgeable and attentive. The individuals I asked were unhelpful and unknowledgeable about options for trying to get from Petra to the Dead Sea. Their only suggestion was to take a private car arranged by them for 80JOD when I knew I could just arrange one outside the hotel for 45-50JOD so I wasn't pleased when they didn't offer this information. I also think that the Movenpicks and Marriotts should offer a shuttle service for guests staying at multiple resort
The location is unbeatable. Event though we arrived late in the night the stafff welcomed us very well. As the ac was giving trouble we were immediately upgraded to a superior room and changed effieciently and patiently at 1 am. This is the best hotel to stay at when visiting petra.
Close to the entrance of Petra.
Personally we felt it is not a 5* star hotel compared to other 5* hotels (like 4 Seasons Hotel in Amman). It is very sad when it is not possible to trust a rating. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is out of our experience a good 3-4 * star hotel but not 5. The "Entertainment" music in the evenening was very strange as it is music which is not related to the country and culture at all.
Located directly at the entrance to the historical Nabatean city of Petra, the luxurious Mövenpick Resort Petra is certainly one of the most notable hotels in the Middle East. The resort is renowned for its intricate Arabesque interior design and its collection of antiques and artwork. Boasting 183 rooms and suites, seven restaurants, lounges, bars, attractive roof garden, library and gift shop, the resort also offers a wellness center with outdoor swimming pool, steam bath, and fitness center.
