Limited room service menu
Perfect but not the restaurant
Location. Nice personne at the entrance. Very clean and original. Confort. Smell good everywhere. Loved our room.
The shower need to offer a better shower system. We were Frozen. Restaurant is more a fast food. À lot of choices in the menu in the elevator...many meal are not present in the menu in the restaurant. The girl didn’t have explanation. We had 4-5 mistakes in our order. No vegetable in our plate. Tones of fries, and your meat choice. Forget it for a romantic dîner a saturday night...
nice pillows and pretty good mattress.
The gym was a little small.
Valet guy. Drawing on room wall. N/A
Front desk staff - rude, unhelpful, not knowledgeable. Literally acted like cared zero shits about your hotel and your guests. Upon check-in they seemed upset, acting like our arrival was imposing on their evening. It was raining and we requested an umbrella, which meant she had to leave the counter, this had her huffing and puffing. No greeting upon entry, ever. Not accommodating, whosoever. Just poor, poor service.
We checked in, headed up to our room, and found a party going on in it. Upon reporting that to the front desk, they were completely confounded. They found another room (supposedly larger than the first) and gave us drink coupons for the inconvenience. No problem. The room was small. 6" between the end of the bed and the desk. But otherwise ok. So we headed down to the bar and ordered two dry martinis a tiny bit dirty. They were out of Stoli so the bartender gave us a premium Stoli. The drinks came back with so much olive brine that they were green. Not drinkable, so we decided to head out for dinner. Upon leaving the coupons we were told that they didn't apply to premium drinks. We suggested paying the difference (for undrinkable cocktails) and the bartender got an attitude and said "just forget it". Finally, upon leaving the next morning, the smallish elevator stopped on the next floor down and the housecleaner got on with her cart, a big garbage bag stuffed with laundry, and a huge gray garbage can on wheels. We were crammed into the back corner of the elevator with our bags. How strange!
Terrific value and location
I loved the modern interior design and how friendly and helpful the staff was. My wife and I stayed at the Boxer for two nights for our mini-moon. We told the front desk staff that it was our honeymoon, and then about ten minutes later, a piece of red velvet cake and a bottle of champagne arrived at our door, completely on the house. We were very impressed.
My only complaint is that the rooms in the pictures from the website looked bigger than our actual room.
Love love love The Boxer
Beautiful hotel, incredibly friendly staff, old fashioned luxury with modern touches, amazing bed
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, especially Fred!
I'm not too keen on the standup shower. Sometimes it's nice to soak in a tub while on vacay.
Services was fantastic at this hotel. The room was ready right away, and my request for extra's in the room was honored. Ease of taxi service, and just across the street from the T and garden.
Location, beds and pillows very comfortable. Clean except for under sink and mold in shower.
Room was extremely small, bairly ok for one person, VERY cramped for two.
Staff was fantastic!! Front desk, bartenders, valet...everyone! Super personable and accommodating! I will remember most by name. Room was "loft-like", super cozy unique. Short walking distance to the water, aquarium, good bars and restaurants! We would definitely stay here again!
Fair price, good service
They block the full summ of money on credit card, then charging it to the summ above that and after that return blocked money 2 weeks later
The bed was very comfy but the toilet did not flush properly which I reported.
Like the close proximity to subway and able to walk to Boston's historic sites.
the staff was very helpful and friendly. the parking deal was also a plus.
not a thing.
Good location and it was a nice room with all the stated facilities.
Didn't get the type of room I booked, which was a double double (2 double beds), but was given a king with a sofa bed. They couldn't provide the right kind of room but did offer an additional king which was fair enough. Decided to stick with the king with the sofa bed which wasn't ideal, but was fine. In addition, the airline lost my luggage but it turned up the same day on another flight and they advised me it had been despatched to my hotel. Needless to say I kept on asking reception if my case had turned up to which they answered in the negative for 2 days. Then I got the right receptionist who remembered the case coming in two days previously and fished it out of storage. No messages on my room phone and other receptionists didn't know about it or even check storage. Not good.
Rooms were stylish and recently renovated. Bathrooms were big and nicely done - great for 4 of us to share. Plus the restaurant was great, and great prices too.
I just thought the hotel was really average. The staffs involvement was minimal.
