Relaxing Weekend
My boyfriend and I loved how relaxing and secluded the hotel was. It was quiet and the guests all respected that as well. The staff was so friendly and made the stay very enjoyable. We were able to have early check in as well.
Only complaint was there could have been better AC in the room.
Very good place but...
The hotel is very nice and all the staff is very kind
They have a “resort fee” that nobody tell you until you are about to leave the hotel, is 40usd/day is not much but then the real price is not the one that they show, for me is a little bit of a scam
Great Experience
The staff at the hotel is phenomenal! The hotel is beautiful and really allows you to feel like you are in Palm Springs. Located in a very walking friendly area near restaurants and shops and set against the backdrop of a majestic mountain this was truly a great experience. I loved being greeted with a cold glass of champagne upon arrival and check-in and it was wonderful that the amenities were included in the hotel fee (wifi, valet, etc.)
We did have an ant issue in our room while we were here. When I called the front desk, they seemed as alarmed and upset as I did and I appreciated that. They sent staff right away to spray and took care of the hotel fee because due to the inconvenience.
A pleasant stay in general, with room for improvem
I always enjoy the pools and the spa services. This hotel is centrally located so that one can walk to restaurants and shopping.
The music at the pool wasn't as good as it has been in the past. I don't care for the new hotel room products (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc.); the George Neil products were better. The hotel no longer offers rafts to float on in the pool, people were bringing there own. This was a sad discovery. In addition, it looked as though the hotel had changed their menu again, although they were able to accommodate some of the our old favorites. The hotel rooms could use some freshening up as well.
Not worth the money
Hotel rooms are run down. This place has beautiful grounds, it's to bad the rooms are run down.
Didn't have hot water almost our entire stay. Rooms need an overhaul. Hotel Price doesn't match What you get for the money.
Viceroy was great, Avalon is good.
Location and service staff is great. But you can tell the lustor of the property is fleeting with ways they could cut corners.
Broken furniture in room, odd odor in room, unclean when first entered and returning customers are not acknowledged or rewarded.
I love the Viceroy (Avalon) but...
This is one of my favorite hotels in Palm Springs for my husband and I. The grounds are amazing and it's location to downtown is excellent.
The hotel is amazing, but the beds needs to better. We moved rooms twice because our bed was squeaky and very uncomfortable. The furniture looks very nice at night, but during the day you can see all the imperfections; it's worn. I can almost put up with the worn furniture if the beds were more comfortable.
I had a great time because my expectations were se
Property has old school Palm Springs charm. Pools, spa and weekend morning yoga class were delightful. Bar cocktails were great. Calm, stylish vibe was exactly what we wanted. Convenient location to walk to downtown Palm Springs shops and restaurants.
Rooms need to be updated - furniture was worn and tired. I'd like to see more small snack options on the Bar and Pool menus.
Warm jaccuzi, pools
Noise
Esthetically it is beautiful & peaceful ....Service is Welcoming and attentive. It is my FAVORITE place to be while in Palm Springs!
I love everything here.
The facility is poorly maintained, old and tired and in need of a gut renovation.
Loved the calm and stylish vibe. The staff was very friendly and attentive. There are 3 pools which was great! I did see a couple of kids there but I don't think its a family hotel. It has a very quiet, relaxing, chill feel. Food is very well made and delicious, I would definitely recommend and return. Beautiful place.
The only thing I can say regarding the room was that there was a dead insect in there, I'm not sure if the room was not thoroughly cleaned or if it got in after but it was dead so I'm assuming it was overlooked by housekeeping. I guess it happens and I didn't make a big deal of it. I know most people love the convenience of valet parking but I would prefer if the hotel also had the option to self park. I asked and the valet attendant who told me I can self park anywhere on the street where available, that is not really an option. Its just better to have access to my car if I need to get anything from there anytime I want. I just think its a hassle to have to be going to valet if I need my car or something out of it.
