My partner and I were only there for a night. Luckily for me, my work paid for it, however, for the £86 it cost, it was not value for money at all. In fact it was very over-priced. I have stayed in London, in a much more luxurious room for less money. Location was the only good part of the stay, but the room was just a bed and a sink. The showers are communal, as is the toilet, therefore not wanting to spend any extra time that we have to in the room. Over-all very poor service from the reception staff, not very good value for money, but good location.
it was warm
shower was burning hot or freezing cold
The hotel was in a great local, only a 5 minute taxi from city center, excellent value for money!
The hotel was in a good location
The hotel was very basic, no bar facilities. No toiletries and breakfast isn't on for long enough. There is no lift and the stairs are steep and narrow.
I enjoyed the quality and cleanliness of the bathroom.
The noise of other visitors and staff alike that woke me up during the night/early in the morning, the quality of staff, the small room
The location.
Size of the room.
I had a room where I could sleep quiet.
A staff member in dinning room behaved inappropriately. She gave me one I did not order and when I reported to her about mistake behaved rudely at me. I have reported this matter to management of Smith's Hotel. The room was untidy and looked ugly. Not enough light; of two bulbs only one was in working condition.
Nice bathroom. No hassle from staff
Leaking roof, carpet needed cleaning - lots of stains, poor tv reception, 4 beds and only one chair! Sheets didn't fit the double bed. Smell that indicated someone had been smoking in the room (lots of fag ends stubbed out on the roof.
Staff were friendly.
First room had a horribly heavily stained beige carpet. I was offered another room when I complained but it was also very very very unclean - heavily stained green carpet, could not take shoes off. Kettle did not work. Had to ask for a new one. There was no soap and also had to ask for it.
Location
More than I can summarize.
Room stank of stale nicotine (including the bedlinen); couldn't get to window without climbing over bed. Carpet and walls grotty.
