The hotel itself is beautiful. Both our room and the lobby, bar, and sitting rooms were wonderfully decorated. We had the afternoon tea and everything was delicious. For the most part, the staff was very friendly and helpful, although some more than others. The pool and jacuzzi were lovely.
The neighborhood is sort of "best of no worlds." There's not much to do, and the restaurants outside the hotel are all a 10+ minute walk. We came out here thinking it would be more bucolic, but it's just a very suburban neighborhood with the homes very close together. We did not plan on going into the center of Berlin since we'd been there for almost a week and were only at Schlosshotel for 1 night, but be aware that unless you take a car, it's not very convenient to get downtown.
Situated in the heart of Berlins most exclusive residential area Grunewald, Schlosshotel Berlin by Patrick Hellmann is embedded between historical villas providing an urban retreat for guests looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
