Cleanliness and staff.
The bed was very uncomfortable
Loved the flexibility of the staff with getting us checked in ahead of time.
Shower pressure and temperature, keys and the elevator
Price for location
Responsive staff ie there were people with an open bottle drinking when I got back from dinner. The staff would not call the police. It’s told I could call the police
The breakfast was excellent as was the room. The hotel itself is quite stunning.
The staff was as unfriendly and the server, Abraham, was very rude. We came at the end and his annoyance was clear. The front desk incorrectly checked me in and didn’t save my card properly. When I inquired about the issue, she was very rude and indicated the problem happened due to a third party and tried to make me feel inferior because I didn’t book directly through the hotel. The front desk agents were not friendly. There was only one agent who was friendly. He was very warm.
Bed was super comfy and the room was dark and quiet.
Wonderful weekend getaway
Very clean and fresh room.
Exceptional Customer Service
We were so happy with our stay at The Westin in Minneapolis! We arrived at the hotel early on the morning of our stay, and the hotel sent us a text when we were on our way and promptly made sure a room was ready for us (hours before check-in!) and also sent us instructions on parking options in the area. We also got an upgraded room, which we weren’t expecting. The lobby area is extremely comfortable, with a lot of various seating options, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We’d love to stay here again!
Great hotel choice for downtown Minneapolis!
Convenient location, right next to the light rail makes it easy to get to and from airport, mall of America. Right downtown near the stadiums and great restaurants.
Near every fun thing I N downtown Mpls.
TV and lights didn't work
Comfortable bed and clean room
The TV and most of the lights didn't work. I called the front desk twice and both times they said they were sending a tech to fix it. No one showed up. I then walked down to the front desk and asked, they said there were sending someone up. No one every showed up. Had to watch football game at the bar.
Clean, quiet and comfortable hotel.
Expensive to park, if you are driving.
The lobby and restaurant are in a beautiful old bank building that has been restored. The rooms are modern and clean.
Excellent lobby. Good room service/bar food. The decor is stylish.
Small. No view. Don't like valet parking, but there is nothing they can do about that. Also, they put us on a preferred floor, but I think they put everybody there, because it was obvious people weren't travelers...talking loudly in hallways at 1am etc.
The location was good.
Very poor service overall. No keys in locker rooms for lockers. Poor turndown service (they only closed the drapes), beds were hard - not the "heavenly bed" Westin promises. Overpriced for the product delivered.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The front desk comped me the WIFI fee due to a mixup with the booking/reservation. Very nice. It's good that management gives them some leeway to act independently. Makes me more loyal; even though it wasn't really necessary.
Somehow booking.com and the Westin didn't connect on my reservation; so there was no record of it. The front desk called booking.com and they re-faxed the reservation details. Could there be a way to do these transactions electronically rather than relying on sending/receiving a fax? Thanks.
good service and cleanliness, helpful staff, room was changed immediately when first room smelled of urine
elevator system with cards to activate doesn't work well, both cards malfunctioned, had to make trips down to desk to get fixed, couldn't get in room
The limited late night menu for 24 hour room service and cost of food/service.
Location. Skyways and access to Nicollete Mall within steps. Ambiance is a good blend of old with the new architecture.
Bedside lamp not functional.
The hotel is conveniently located on the light rail line that runs directly downtown from the airport. Similarly, it is on Nicollet Mall where all the shopping and restaurants are located in downtown Minneapolis.
Caution - there are rooms that have windows into a pseudo courtyard-like space. I prefer a room with natural light, so you may want to specify your preference when booking.
the pool was nice, the food was excellent, the staff were helpfull and accomodating
check-in was difficult as they understaff the desk, no one was even there at one point
location is very good; staff very helpful
had lost my reservation, but I fortunately had copied it; swimming pool and workout facilities were marginal at best
The exercise room and pool
The service in the dining room
Set in the Farmers & Mechanics Bank building that was built in 1941, the Westin Minneapolis opened in 2007 making it a national historic landmark. The Westin features the original 34-foot vaulted bank lobby, marble staircase and wood-carved emblems signifying the leading industries of the World War II era. The 6,400-square-foot walnut-paneled lobby is home to the 200-seat B.A.N.K. restaurant. Seats near the wood-and-granite teller’s counter look into the open kitchen and the original chandeliers remain. The American cuisine features a wholesome, healthy menu to ensure you leave feeling better than when you arrived. A seamless integration of contemporary convenience and historic significance, our 214 guest rooms boast an intriguing combination of sophistication and rejuvenation. The guest rooms offer different shapes, city views and unique lay-outs since the bank offices were not designed as sleeping rooms. All rooms were recently renovated in February 2015.
