Hotel served our needs
Mega convenient if using the train. Literally right across the street. The room itself was comfortable. Check in/check out was quick.
Staff was OK but not overly friendly. Also when I asked if I could use their printer for a legal document that I needed to print and sign (and was willing to pay for this service) one of the front desk agents said they had no printer (!) Hard to believe that a hotel did not have a printer on hand. Walked across the street to the Tourist Info office in the train station where the gentleman bent over backwards to help me out. Bathroom had a urine-like odor
Great Location, good for solo travel
The hotel is very walkable to all of the transportation in/around Nikko. Hotel staff speak enough English to do what needs to be done. The room was very nice. The hotel has restaurants of various types, which was great. Many locstions in Japan open late, so having breakfast early was a real plus. Dinner went until 8:30 -- also great for a busy sightseeing day. I dId not use the hotsprings, but it sounded nice. As a solo traveller, i found the amenities very convenient. Internet was good.
My room was a bit more expensive than I would otherwise have liked, but I think for the convenience it was worthwhile.
