Everything was great except it was a tad overpriced in almost everything we did. Still had a great time and would love to return.
Things to be aware of
The aquariums are great. The pools are lots of fun. The slides/attractions are fun for all ages. Beaches are clean and beautiful and make for a great day swimming
Cost. Bring your booze/food if you can. Have the taxi driver stop at the store on the way to the resort. Bring a cooler too. 1 out of every five staff members is friendly. Everyone else just wants to move on to the next person.
wonderful value hotel
excellent waterpark, rapid river, leap of faith, beach, drinks, warm polite staff, awesome room with a view. Quiet rooms. Alot of beach towels available.
refrigerator was broken, not enough reasonably priced restaurants near the Beach tower, No cheap transportation. would like a bus on paradise island. Gift shop lied to us about our use of our room credit.
Still Great 20 Years Since Last Visit
Impeccable location, easy to get around, the staff and locals are tremendously friendly and the water activities are great.
For us, this is a once-a-decade type of stay. Everything is expensive and the Beach Tower is starting to show signs of aging.
Convenience to the beach
The pool was under construction I was quoted one price for an extra person but they charge me much much higher price when I got there
My room was facing the water. Very beautiful and quiet. The bed is comfortable.
Lots of miscommunication between employees.
I loved the beach location , not over crowded , staff very friendly , top class hotel resort
I didn't that I has to leave so soon , wish I could've spent another week there , I wish they had free Internet
I read the reviews before I booked this hotel. Its a fantastic hotel to stay. Nice rooms,, Beach, lot of pools, Aqua venture , Dolphin Adventure, Underwater Aquarium , night clubs . Its a all in one place . Every place is busy with people and energy n at the same time if u want to relax with no people around u can do that too. I liked my stay thoroughly. Its suitable for kinds of people ether you go with family , couple or single.
1 No Free internet,Internet costs 22 $ a day. Strange but true. Very disappointed . 2 Dinner buffet is too pricey almost costing 68 $, n service is not upto the standards of the cost. They did not inform it closes at 10:15 we wet late around 9:30. All the workers seemed to be in a mood to leave Asap. 3 long Queue to check in , but that's just a minor issue.
Internet is 20 dollars per day
We were concerned after looking at some reviews but were happily surprised. From the minute we stepped out of the taxi we were treated as valued guests. The Beach Tower rooms were cheery and comfortable. We received a call with our first 20 minutes making sure a light bulb was replaced and the air conditioning was working. The room did smell a bit musty when we entered ....because the carpets had been cleaned. No smell the rest of the stay. We never felt the need to upgrade as others have stated. We do suggest paying extra for the ocean view rooms--we peeked across the hall during cleaning time and it was spectacular! We did see fireworks off of our balcony though one night. The newletter that tells days events also had 20 or 30% off coupons to use in spa which was lovely. We had a wonderful time. Staff was great and always asking if we were enjoying ourselves. Gratuities are included or added to everything and it was nice to not have to wonder about tipping--this includes the bell service and maid service.
The only complaint would be the high cost of food, but we brought lots of snack bars so we would buy less and it worked great. Starbucks in Coral Towers has sandwiches and fruit bowls and there is a Quiznos in Marina Village. We knew the cost was high due to importing. I suggest booking animal encounters before you go. Because of this we DID get to swim with dolphins. We DID NOT get to play with sea lion because it was full when we tried to book at desk. There is a free movie theater that plays just released movies (DVD) and they stopped during NCAA play offs and showed those instead. I can see how that made some happy, but our group was not interested in it and we did enjoy going to the theater at night. We had trouble in swimming in ocean due to rough surf. No one's fault, just nature. We read pools closed at 5pm but not correct--they were open until 7pm--beach as well.
Barefoot and carefree, The Beach at Atlantis is literally all about the beach itself.
