The renovated room, the view, the architectural character of the building. Polite and helpful staff.
The windows could do a better job of sound dampening from the main road, definitely needed earplugs to sleep.
Nice Central Location
I'm an American from the South that does not know the language. I didn't have any issues with directions. Good food is around the corners at this centrally located hotel to everything. Good price for the nice room.
There's a problem with shower water on the floor after I showered. With my feet still wet DON'T step on the marble floor!
Loved this hotel
It was very close to all attractions that we were there to see..walking distance to Las ramblas, La Boqueria, the beach, the Marina and many many other attractions..the staff was very helpful and very friendly...fantastic location I gotta say..away from the noise yet close to everything..this would be my first choice when I go back to Barcelona...loved it!!
The only one thing that I didn't like was just the wifi..it just kept coming in and out at times..but everything else was fantastic...
The location was great.
The sheets were dirty, they pay them over towels. The bed makes a lot of noise. The mattress is uncomfortable. Didn't like the buffet
We really liked this hotel: completely redone. The location was fantastic: a leisurely walk to Rumblas as well as to the boardwalk/Mall area by the bay. Lots of small convenience stores within a block or two to buy water, etc. Mcdonald's is also 5 min away in Rumblas; food is expensive in Barcelona, so it was nice to have this close-by with nice outside tables. The rooms and bathrooms are very specious with either a comfortable full size bed or two twin beds. The roll away beds are limited, specify the number of people staying in the room if you need one.
The staff was very accommodating and gave us rooms next to each other, but they have no connecting rooms.
By far the best location in town, quiet but in the midst of the action. Most sights within walking distance. Clean, modern and with a touch of history and tradition.
No hotel parking.
Good location, nice rooms, pleasant overall impression.
shower room flooded when used and wallpaper was peeling off the walls in the corridor which made poor impression on arrival
the location is great but the square in front of the hotel is full of homeless . The rooms were very clean and cleaned well every day. As opposed to some reviews I found the staff at the reception quite friendly and helpful. Some less so than others.
I requested that my Tv be fixed to allow CNN to be shown from day 1. On day 5 still not done and I asked everyday.. Perhaps they could not do that but they could leave amessage accordingly. I thought the price was a little on the high side for the value.
I took my girlfriend for her 21st birthday and neither of us was disapointed (even her). The location was perfect, a 30 second walk to La Ramblas and the Harbour just across the road. The room was nice and clean with an lovely en-suite bathroom.
The staff could've been a bit more freindly ie saying hello and goodbye for a start but apart from that I really enjoyed staying at the Medinaceli and would go back there as it's great value for money and perfeclty located
I asked for a room overlooking the square which I got.
The water was brown and the hotel would not reassign me to another room until my last nite nor did they reduce my room rate.
Perfect location, Drassanes metro station is just a couple of minutes walk away, the sea and port are really close too as well as La Rambla and other places of interest.
The breakfast was not that good even though it seemed to include lots of things. If you want to use the safe in the room you'll have to pay 2 extra Euros per day and that's kind of strange for a 4-star hotel. Air-conditioning too noisy and inefficient
Friendly reception staff, interesting interior design.
Air conditioning was quite inefficient, needed to keep it at max to achieve acceptable room temperature at cost of heavy noise. Brakfast buffet would certainly benefit from better variety and possibly also day to day variations. Putting a RED ("don't disturb") card on the door should prevent housekeeping or other staff from disturbing or at least entering. Yet it didn't.
everything was perfect, especially breakfast. Design of hall and room is interesting!
smell of sewerage system at night when the air-conditioner was working
With a stay at Medinaceli, you'll be centrally located in Barcelona, steps from La Rambla and 6 minutes by foot from Palau Guell. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk.
