The meals and attentions are spectacular.
The air conditioning is automated in the rooms. So it cannot be modified by the guest at your own pleasure. In addition, once closed the dinner restaurants, the only thing there is for food is a Deli where the only thing they serve is sandwich. They should include more variety, such as pizza, hamburgers, etc.
Beware! Seems like it could be great, however....
Some of the staff and the location were good
I wasn't expecting high quality food, having been to a number of all inclusive resorts in the past. However, a large percentage of the items served here were bad. I don't mean they were not prepared well, rather they were at very stages of spoiled. Worst was the breakfast meat served for room service, which reeked when sliced into and was many days expired. We quickly got in the habit of first taking a small sample before consuming anything. This combined with indifference by the staff, particularly at the front desk, should cause you pause if you are considering staying at this location. Also, do not believe that your package includes everything described. WiFi is not included, and ocean view may require you to stand on a chair to see over the wall. Kayak should drop this location or appropriately update the descriptions to reflect reality.
Good value,quick get away
Staff stood out the most as tolerant helpful and nice. Loads of food and drink.
All was fine but if you want to be in heart of cancun hotel nightlife then you are 10 minute plus drive away. Food was fine but obviously if you are in a more luxurious place the cuisine is of a different caliber.
Great stay at GR Solaris
Had a wonderful time at GR Solaris. There was always plenty to do, eat, and drink. The staff was wonderful! We were upgraded at check-in from a regular room to a beautiful Ocean-front with jacuzzi. I have no complaints about anything from the weekend! I would definitely go back!
Smelly gross food disgusting resort
Great bang for your buck!
My sister and I travelled here. We had a great time!! Staff were nice, clean, and overall a great experience! 24 room service was a perk we really liked! And our room was ocean view, really nice.
Good was decent. Wish they had more resturants to choose from
A variety of foods were offered. The Marco Polo restaurant was excellent. We loved our server Señor Felix (feliciano) who went above and beyond to provide us excellent meal experiences at Marco Polo!!! He was always attentive.
The wifi service was poor. While other hotels picked up on the beach the wifi at this hotel didn't even pick up in the rooms. It was a bit pricey for very spotty service.
Overall our experience at the GR Solaris Cancun was good. The food was good limited from a restaurant perspective. The entertainment was fun, but not great. From talking with others, you can tell the staff has done an amazing job of making this a place people want to come back to time and time again. The patrons and staff, young and old, were friendly and made for an overall enjoyable experience.
The biggest issue this this hotel was the poor internet service. You pay $37USD per device for 3 days and we had issues staying connected to it anywhere but in the lobby. When we complained, the manager told us there wasn't anything they could do but complain to the company. The food options were extremely limited, but the food they had was ok. The minibar in the rooms was also very limited. There were just a few beers, a few sodas and 3-4 bottles of water. More options or bars that were open later would have been helpful. The location on the beach was also not as nice as other places I've been. The water was very rough and the beach wasn't as nice as other locations I've been to in Cancun.
Not great. Just ok. You won't get the best service or food, but you also won't get sick. Great views of the Caribbean from ocean front rooms.
My favorite thing about this place was the staff. Everyone spoke English, even the room attendants, so communication was very easy. I did not encounter a single rude person. The wait staff rotated from restaurant to restaurant as the day progressed, so you really got to know the staff. The pools were great... one was really warm, one was just right, and of course the ocean was only a few steps away if you wanted to really cool off. The wait staff came down to the beach to take orders, too, which was probably the best part! The food was mostly good... lots of buffet fare, lots of selection. The reservations-only restaurant, Marco Polos, was very nice. The asian night was my favorite, the french night was not that great (except for the cheese).
While there were always options for food, the windows for certain things to be open were relatively small. For example, if you wanted a sandwich, the place didn't open until 4:00.
Nice and clean, fairly close to the clubs.
Limited food choices, not enough variety. Entertainment was mediocre.
My room had a great view of the ocean and had plenty of space. The food was good.
I asked for someone to fix my safe (twice) and had to wait with no one ever came. The music by the pool was a little loud. I had to keep telling the bartenders t blend the frozen drinks longer with always had chunks of ice in them.
Just the room
Very noisy. Only American and Canadian tourists, not Europeans. Bad food. Some of тhе staff stole money from the room.
"Located in Zona Hotelera, this beachfront property is in the city center and within a 10-minute walk of El Rey Ruins and Delfines Beach. Aquaworld and Maya Cancun Museum are also within 3 mi (5 km). "
