Very good value for money. The Thai restaurant provided excellent service and very good food.
the bbq restaurant and the spa
no coffee facilities in the room
Restaurent price high, local phone calls very expensive, poor wi-fi conection
Design, the quiet, the swimming-pool on the beach is cool, good dinner when the buffet, the beach is good
One day - buffet dinner, after - "a la carte". When the dinner is "a la carte", the service is very long, the food is'nt tasty.
The Sindbad has beautiful grounds and the private beach was for me the best part about the hotel. It has 3 pools, but the 2 outdoor ones, although nice did not feel like "swimming" pools as there are restaurants around them rather than sunloungers. This put people off swimming. The standard room was lovely..just the right size and the cleaning staff kept it in good order. The spa also had a great wide variety of treatments and massages, however prices are western standard. The location was great if you just want to chill on the beach, relax and not do much else. The medina is a nice short walk away and the beach walk is lovely (late May it felt you had it to yourself as there isnt much else on this stretch of beach but the hotel).
The food was not good value for money. Prices were western or more but nowhere near the standard. It felt like a rip-off. Especially for salads and whne you just want a light bite. Breakfast wsa overall good, but dinner hit or miss. I wouldnt go halfboard here again. Also I did not like the fact that you had to pay for all drinks, even on half board. There was no free drinking water, and the water at the hotel was more expensive than at home (over £2 a bottle). This racks up fast when you are in a hot climate and the hotel wont allow you to take your own water bottles around the grounds.
I have a thousand words to express my disappointment. But I won't because it's useless. Next time I will just remember that nothing in Tunisie works like expected. Particularly, telling about The Sindbad Hotel, table tennis and wi-fi internet. And hot water. And everything else. It's the best from the worst though. Anyway I somehow managed to have a good time so my dissapointment about the hotel didn't completely spoil my vacation.
The staff is very good and helpfull.
Excellent resort - nice location, good food, modern rooms. Great value on the low season discount we got. I think it was probably cheaper than the shared dorm we have now in Berlin!
The beach in front of the hotel (and actually the whole of Tunisia) needs a good rubbish clean up. Its not really the resorts fault (but they could do something locally to improve it), but there was always a bit of rubbish floating in the sea when we went out swimming, and its unsightly when it washes up on the beach.
Spacious rooms - The Beach
Shampoo & Soap are not replaced automatically, we had to ask for it.
