I had a great stay. The hotel is in an excellent location if you want to enjoy the nightlife. The staff was incredibly friendly and the room was clean and mostly comfortable.
Because it's centrally located and close to the pubs there is a decent amount of street noise since you'll have to keep your window open. This didn't bother me because my own home has a similar situation, but those looking for quiet might not like it. Also the shower is a bit tiny. It was fine for me but larger people might have troubles. Lastly, it was a very hot day which made the room very warm. Not great air flow, so something to keep in mind if you're traveling in the summer.
As some review says, the hotel is small but supply everything I need. And it is quite clean. The location is convenient.
the breakfast and location
the noise from the bar and no towel rail in bathroom
The welcome was very warm, beautiful young woman on front desk. The hotel decor surprises, very Italianate, more Venice than Limerick, a lot of red and black in halls, my room was done in tasteful blues and creams. The front of the hotel gives no idea and the reception area is very modest, so as you go upstairs to the rooms the effect is striking. A painting series on the landings of a couple embracing creates a romantic effect I liked very much and immediately wished I had a partner with me! Some rooms looked spectacular, large inviting beds and spacious seating areas, all with the same sensuous Italianate decor. All looked comfortable. The breakfast area overlooks the street so you can watch Limerick waking up. The Full Irish was huge!
There are some pubs nearby and so you can expect the usual propensity of young Irishmen and women to end the evening by shouting inarticulately and meaninglessly at each other (some Irish traditions will never die!) - it's a very primitive and no doubt meaningful form of communication for them but provides a sad irritation for anyone else. I was staying midweek and it was not so bad. But you have been warned!
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was very clean
The bed and shower were small
Location. Staff were very friendly. The cost was very good.
Shower poor. Bed not very comfortable. The room was very dark a small window. Some outside noise.
Staff friendly, excellent location, fab breakfast, easy atmosphere
The car parking facility was not great because even though it was not expensive anything other then a 24 hour car park is not much good for a hotel when you have to leave early in the morning, I nearly missed my flight because the car park didn't open until 7.30am! The room I was in was good but it was right across the road from a very noisey bar so I got no sleep until about 1am!
Proximity to city centre.
Sheets on the bed instead of a duvet.
It was very central.
The beds have to be the woret i have ever slept on.
Location - and was dirt cheap- saved on taxi's and nxt to pubs and shops !
Stairs - big bag and 2 flights of stairs dont mix
