upgraded to a double room with windows when arrived at almost midnight.
The hotel could not accept my credit card when they swipe the card on their machine. However another hotel in istanbul could. I have to walk to an atm machine 10 min away to withdraw cash for them. I find it very inconvenient.
We spent a very enjoyable long weekend at the Almina. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff very friendly and helpful and the hamam and other facilities relaxing and a pleasure to use. From the roof terrace you can see the Bosphorus one way and the Blue Mosque the other - stunning!
The hotel is very near a railway line, which is noisy. However, the line is due to be closed soon.
A very comfortable small hotel, with very attentive staff, very clean linen, good breakfast and one that is a stone's throw away from the historic/ architectural sights, the shopping places and also the sea-front!!
Although there was nothing we disliked,we suggest that guests could be provided snacks at reasonable rates in the form of packed meals for touring and also at the restaurant on the terrace.
The staffs are friendly. Breakfast is good. Room is clean and bed is comfortable. Walking distance to most sightseeing spots.
Close to tram path. Kind of noisy at night.
the hotel personnel was kind enough. I had an evening flight and they let me use the hotel facilities before i leave to take a shower, although it was after the latest check out limit
the location of the hotel is the worst possible. they gave me a room below ground floor without windows and it was extremely noisy. the train passes next to the hotel every now and then and the room was vibrating!!! They didn't provide me the supposedly free transport to the airport because they said i didn't book directly to the hotel...
The hotel is well located for sightseeing. Staff very friendly and helpful
The rooms on one side of the hotel, inlcuding mine were next to to a train line and therefore very noisy.
Good location, polite staff, close to the city center, especially Sultanahmet mosque,, Aya Sofia, tram station which takes you all around the city center. It is within walking distance to Grand Bazaar and even Taksim square (about an hour on foot) but an hour on foot really is not a much time for walking in a strange city for a traveller. Breakfast was good. Hotel staff provides different night programs with turkish show programs, concerts and etc.
Some rooms of the hotel are situated on the part connected with train road which makes some uncomfort on the morning bacause of loud "voice" of moving trains.
