This hotel is on the internet at a Luxury "business" hotel. The reality is that it is a run down building with no facilities and no near-by facilities unless you want to walk down to the Green Park Hotel. We would never have stayed there if we had known and had not arrived at night in a dark neighborhood with nothing around. To get to any sign of life the next day, we had to cross the railway track looking for trains coming both ways and hope we didn't fall crossing the track. Shame on you for not being honest that this is a ghetto hotel in not a very nice location. It almost spoiled out great trip to Turkey.
It calls itself a residence, but there is no kettle in the room only a fridge that doesn't work too well. The staff were friendly and helpful though.
Good only if you arrive in saw
room nice size
first it is not a Hotel, other than beakfast there are no food or drink facilities staff not very helpful nearest shop to buy food is a mile away through a field up a hill and across a railway track, not sure who is idealy suited to the hotel not families, not buisness people maybe people ariving late at night and leaving early next day
Hotel has curious architecture but appears well run. Clean spacious room with good beds and free Wifi connection. Assuming that one can get a taxi, the hotel is convenient for Sabiha Gocken airport.
It was hard to find in an outer suburb of Istanbul with no local amenities. Even local taxi drivers had not heard of it. The hotel backs on to a major railway line. The air conditioning did not work.
I liked the comfort of the room & the room facilities. And Pendik centre was within walking distance.I would suggest the internet connection should be wireless or provide a longer lead to connect a laptop to. It would then be possible to use your laptop in the living area.
The staff at reception were fluent in English and very helpful to the point of allowing us to leave our luggage at the hotel's storage facility for a few days while we toured nearby areas in Istambul. The swimming pool is lovely, not crowded and of sufficient length (approx. 20-25 m) to do some decent swimming. The rooms were clean and included a fully kitted out kitchen and living room, which made home cooking easy. There are shops nearby (5 min walk) where one can buy all the food necessary.
There is no safe storage for bicycles. At night, youngsters from the neighbourhood can roam around the hotel facilities and may even jump the fence. The night receptionist and security guard do not seem particularly interested in doing their job. Other hotels in town offer free airport transport even with a van that can carry bicycles. The Marmara Pendik Residence lacks this facility and relies on local taxi services that can be expensive (we paid 35 Turkish Lira for a taxi to Sabiha Gokcen airport, which was a bit of a high surcharge for carrying our two bicycles).
the room was clean and nice
The room was smelly and there was a main line train track fifty mtrs from our room which meant we did not get much sleep also the breakfast was poor and expencive.
No evening food. Frozen brekfast.
