Excellent location!

Diet requirement well catered for. Room well presented and staff extremely helpful.

Room we were in for training was very cold on the Monday, still cold on the Tuesday. Heating only provided by plug in radiators which did not provide enough heat.

Perfect location, incredible prices and...

The staff was incredibly helpful. I called them late at night because my room was too cold and they managed to remotely set my A/C system to provide heating. Also, I went there for a test and they stored my luggage free of charge after check out. Breakfast is delivered to your room and the menu while still continental was varied and tasty.

I noticed some of the furniture could use a new coat of paint. Additionally, while walking on the carpet you get the sense some of the floor is uneven, which was fine for me, but may cause trouble to people with reduced mobility.

Staff was really nice and polite, nice view. It was ok for the circumstances making us unable to stay at home during these difficult times.

The breakfast order was incorrect both times we ordered. The quality of the food was also quite bad. There was only one thin duvet and the pillows were hard. The room was absolutely freezing when we got there (took a full day to warm up). It was actually colder inside than outside. The staff cleaning the room did not replace our glasses nor cups so we had to drink from dirty cups the morning after. The floor was also not cleaned and the bed was not made.

Lovely staycation spot

Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room service was lovely given we were unable to go down tp restaurant or bar due to the lockdown restrictions.

Very good hotel for a...

Staff were very friendly and I felt that appropriate covid precautions had been put in place. The food options for dinner were slightly limited but the food was good. The cooked breakfast was good, plenty of choice and a reasonable price. The room was comfy, and had everything I needed in it. The bathroom was large, and had a very good shower and nice sized bath. The staff were very polite and helpful.

The mattress was a little hard, but that’s just personal preference. I also didn’t like the amount of lights that couldn’t be turned off easily- the light from the phones was quite bright and made it harder to get to sleep.

Lovely Quite Location With Spacious...

Lovely location; quite room overlooking playing fields. Convenient for me. Excellent breakfast served exactly on time.

The glow in the room from the phone and other appliances/sockets. I’m sure I could have sorted it but didn’t investigate. The bathroom boor handle came off in my hand as it wasn’t screwed in properly so It needs serving but unfortunately I forgot to mention it on checking out.

Value for the money. I...

The room was spacious and cozy. The housekeeping service respected the lockdown rules but were always prompt with providing room cleaning supplies. The receptionists and room service staff were helpful and informative. I would highly reccomend this hotel to anyone visiting London.

The room service menu could have been better but I think they did a wonderful job given the current pandemic.

EXELLENT SERVICE

Room were Clean had all one need when travel the bathroom were CLEAN like Very clean and with all essential cleaning for one personal NEED ( IN CASE SOMEONE WERE I THE HURRY AND COULD NOT GET IT'S OWN - WERE PROVIDED WHICH IS ESSENTIAL AS SPECIALLY WHEN IT IS AN EPIDEMIC. The hotel took the temperature of everyone who checked in and served food ONLY IN THE ROOM for to avoid spread of the covid19. The breakfast were WONDERFUL. JUST WONDERFUL and so were the people who served it or delivered it in to the room. At time I were there it was coffee and drink served in the open area of the hotel's bar but WAS STRICTLY FOLLOWED BY THE 2m distance and every one I seen there followed and respected that rule. I loved the cleanness and the food served in the room rather than in the communal areas and the people who had the room service WERE LOVELY KIND and PROFESSIONAL . THIS HOTEL IS (WERE) VERY COVID 19 SAVE and VERY MUCH FOR TO PLEASE THE GUESTS.

A very relaxing and comfortable...

Comfortable room with all the usual facilities. Very clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. Good selection of TV channels (not that we really used this) and the breakfast was very tasty indeed. All the necessary COVID precautions taken and hand sanitisers were available throughout the property.

There is a lot of building work going on around the property - obviously not the fault of the hotel - but bear this in mind when booking.

Overall a lovely place, unfriendly...

So the good things: It is as pictured, the lobby is lovely, the restaurant/ breakfast room is nicely decorated and they are definitely covid ready. It felt very covid safe, everything was perfectly clean. The rooms were also nice, the curtains and blinds thick and good quality, the decorating was lovely. The bath/shower was perfect. One of the blonde managers was nice and there was no problems with check in/check out/storing luggage and I saw that they opened the lobby bar for one person which I thought was nice and showed that they’d go out of there way. If there were any issues they were handled efficiently by the staff, it was a smooth service and really there was everything you need. The continental breakfast was lovely, there were also lovely toiletries. The building itself is beautiful, and it’s in a peaceful neighbourhood only a short walk from Victoria and st James’ park, so it’s an ideal location. On paper it was all very good, it was a shame for some of the customer service side to let it down.

The negatives: Some of the decor in the bedroom was tired: a scratched/ marked tea tray, a straightener burn on the dressing table, scuffing on some of the hard furniture, the blind broke during my stay, broken phone. The pillows - they were rather uncomfortable, they may well be good quality and they were feather, but good Lord were they uncomfortable! 2 was just not doable, one was fairly bad, they felt hard somehow and left me aching. The staff - now this is difficult as the staff didn’t do anything ‘bad’, certainly if this was a cheap place I wouldn’t be as disappointed, and when a problem occurred (I came back to find my blind on the floor, it had apparently broken somehow whilst I was out) they offered to change my room etc. and generally handled it very well. However she did tell me somewhat accusingly that they had tried to call my room but my room phone was on do not disturb - it actually was entirely broken. So hearing me ramble right now you’re probably wondering what was the problem ? It’s harder with masks but the staff were just a bit rude. They were just generally a bit unfriendly and treated me a bit like an inconvenience or occasionally with disdain. A couple of examples: upon checking my luggage into storage (which they were fine for me to do) I tried to ask when I needed to collect them only to be cut off with an abrupt “okay, have a nice day” On the second day when my breakfast came it arrived with eggs, I just said ‘oh I’m sorry, I didn’t order eggs and I probably won’t eat them, I wouldn’t want them to go to waste’ and gestured to hand them back to her - she told me that I was wrong, I had ordered it and that it was on the form and took them away. So there was nothing bad, or wrong but it lacked the service with a smile, general friendliness. I felt like I was met with a bit of an attitude constantly and to be frank, I was paying enough to expect a friendlier service.

Very clean, Covid precautions taken seriously, temp testing on entry to hotel, hand san everywhere, single use pens and wipes for your card, very clean & comfortable room with bath & shower. Good heating/air con (and windows open as well, a bonus). Staff very friendly and helpful. Bar/lounge area comfortable and very quiet (empty due to Covid, I guess) but relaxing and non-residents welcome to join guests. Very convenient & walkable for central locations. Roadworks going on around Vincent Square - no noise, but altered traffic system if you’re bringing a car. Good room price with continental breakfast included - order the night before but delivered to your allocated table in the restaurant. Will definitely be staying there again.

What a Great Stay!

The atmosphere was very warm. The hotel room is very comfortable, not to mention clean and Covid secure! The bath and the bed were top top quality!

Being honest, everything was amazing! In order to make the structure a 10/10, in our opinion, it would have been nice to find pairs of slippers, and a few more toiletries. Also a small notebook and a pen would have been useful. Of course, these are small things to make the experience even more incredible than what it was.

We initially booked prior to covid for 3 nights, due to the need to rebook we were told that for September what we had paid would only cover 2 nights but to our surprise right now we could have actually kept our 3 nights. Having paid £193 a night we could have almost had one the apartments for £199.

Nice hotel, shame about the...

The hotel itself is nice with attractive decor. The bathroom was clean and the shower was great. The bed was very comfortable too, as was the temperature of the room. The hotel is in a great location, just a 10 minute walk from Victoria but in a peaceful and attractive residential location, which makes for a quiet and restful night's sleep.

Given the current situation, we would have expected a little more attention to detail with cleaning. We found food from the previous occupants in the fridge and also a contact lens stuck to the desk. We didn't alert staff to this as we weren't keen on anyone else being in the room during our stay but it did make us wonder at the level of cleaning which was being undertaken. It was also apparent that the carpets in the common areas were not vacuumed regularly, which was another cause for concern regarding cleanliness. Staff were not especially friendly - upon both checking in and out the receptionist was distracted, first by another guest and then on the phone and others were just a little standoffish. Staff were not particularly helpful either and no care was taken to explain how various arrangements had changed given the pandemic. I had to ask for an explanation about breakfast arrangements and then the actual arrangements differed from those which had been explained to me. Breakfast was slightly chaotic and on our second day it was clear that staff did not have a clue about our order, even though we had pre-ordered. Staff also seemed impatient for us to eat up and leave. I observed other guests having to ask for their food too. Not good. Breakfast was average, the hot food was lukewarm and the pastries were clearly not fresh. Also, my husband only got one small cup of coffee, what hotel doesn't offer refills at breakfast?? Pillows in the bedroom were too hard for my liking. It's always better, in my opinion, to have a selection for guests as everyone has a different preference. We had paid for a deluxe double and were a little dissatisfied with how basic the room was, although I appreciate that some of the luxuries , such as cushions and other soft furnishings may have been removed for health and safety reasons.

Incredibly well situated just off Victoria Street, The Wellington is a comfy hotel with a historic outer skin and modern, well appointed rooms. The bed was huge, the water hot and lots of pressure behind it. The room was also very clean. Thoroughly enjoyed my two-night stay

Big rooms, Big bed, nicely decorated, Friendly staff, Nice bar and seating in reception area. Good location if you're looking t go the theatres. They are walking distance from the hotel.

There wasn't a lot I didn't like only thing I would say is updating the lifts a little as they were a little jumpy but didn't cause any problems to the stay just the only thing I can think of in terms of improving.

Came to this hotel for my boyfriends birthday, I have to say it was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they answered any questions we had. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was modern. The mattress has a bit firmer than I usually like but you cant please everyone. Did not pay for a breakfast, however it smelt delicious. Overall, could not fault the place.

The front staff and concierge were not knowledgable about the area and services we asked about...parking, open restaurants, cash machines. No one from.staff offered to assist with luggage and could not.provide a bell.cart. Mini bar in room was empty, no hair dryer, one set of slippers for 2 guests in the room. Bed and linens old, unattractive, and blanket too small for the bed. Overall small and appeared run down.

You had to ask for breakfast stock no matter what time you stranded breakfast only ever 4 sausages at most available for example and no bacon. When other guests such as a que of 4 people for breakfast they would then bring out 4 sausages by which point several more had joined the breakfast que. Some of it despite being in hot plates was cold. Staff were awkward and some rude as if you were their last priority. Not sure if I didnt meet their standard of important because I was young ish or just didn't look like a good enough class of importance for them. Room was right by reception and the main door. Normally hotel beds are too soft so you melt, this was so hard sleeping on a floor would be more comfortable broken disrupted sleep due to discomfort.

The property looks grand from the outside and overlooks a nice square. It feels removed from the hustle and bustle of London but is close to public transport. The staff are really friendly and very helpful. We were able to check in early. The room was clean and well presented with all necessary amenities. The beds were comfortable and there were an abundance of pillows. Everything was really good!

The lift could have been a bit faster when moving between floors, as only one was working and it was pretty slow.

My room was very small with barely a window that faced their courtyard so there was no natural lights. The room was extremely hot and no AC available. The pillows were hard and the room smelled like dog urine. There was also a strange door knocking sound that would occur every 30min, it scared me during the night as I thought someone was knocking at my door.

The room was unexpectedly large and comfortable and was VERY clean yet welcoming and comfy at the same time. The staff were a little serious and abrupt upon our arrival but that wasn't an issue.

Some of the staff were a touch blunt and when putting out luggage into storage the following morning, the staff member tagging and storing he bags moved almost lethergically. It didn't affect our stay but it was almost painful to watch

Clean , small but had everything we needed !

The staff was not helpful at all apart from the young man down at the restaurant! When we first got there, there was 3 girls at checkin , they just said our room number , did not tell us which way to go ! Later that evening , my husband went to ask did they have a safety pin , I had a bit of a wardrope malfunction, she just said no , didnt attempt to ask anyone else or care to assist further ! We asked for an iron and ironing board which we got straight away , when we finished we called reception and said we were finished and was told to leave them outside , the next morning these was still outside our room ! We had a show at 7.30 so we wanted to eat in the restaurant before hand , when we asked we were told the restaurant only opens at 6.30, we knew it would be a rush but booked in for 6.30 We went to the bar for a drink at 6 , in the bar I asked for a pink gin , you didnt have any , this is a very common drink so I was surprised you didnt , but anyways I went for a gin and wanted a 7up , again you had no 7up , no Sprite and no lemonade . Very bad form ! went straight down to restaurant at 6.30 to be told they were opened since 6 . In fairness to the young man there, after we explained we needed to be out by 7.10 , we had our starters and mains as fast as they were ready and he was very friendly . The bed was very uncomfortable !

Quiet central hotel not far from Victoria. Only stayed one night. Lovely room, comfortable bed, quiet. Staff were helpful.

Lovely building from the outside quite area . Brilliant of the receptionist as she upgraded us and the room was fabulous made our stay even more enjoyable . Staff when we saw them very polite

There was nothing to dislike . Can't comment on restaurant as didn't eat there . Had originally sent an email asking if they did vegan food but didn't hear back that's not to say it was their fault could've maybe went to spam

I arrived extremely early and was made to feel very welcome. They went above and beyond and found me a room to check into. The food was delicious amenities clean I’m definitely returning soon

It was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The staff were helpful. Our room was large with a great bathroom.

Room was comfortable and the small gym is a bonus.

Staff served a "lady" before me who pushed in when I had been waiting for 5 minutes to check in. Lots of noise from other guests returning in the early hours also.

The location is perfect and the room were well equipped. The staff were all very professional and friendly. In the morning the young staff who set up the breakfast were the best members of staff i encountered and i was very impressed with their professionalism.

the water available for room service is very over priced. I totally understand it's in a fancy glass bottle but £5 for a litre of water is crazy.
