Lovely Riad, good location, staff were great, food was fab. They are building a hamman which will be great.
The Riad was a lovely relaxing oasis of calm in a bustling, hectic city. The staff were helpful and discreet, and it was nice to have some distance from the noisy motorbike plagued souks
Really quiet, very nice rooms, wireless internet, very good value for money, even the other guests were all lovely. The terrace is beautiful. Outstanding cleanliness. The heating works (which helps in January). Manager very professional if slightly aloof, but helpful and super-honest. Location: I know a lot of people say they found it difficult to find, but after all it's in the medina – comes with the territory, if it's easy to find it means it's not in the medina. Just make sure you have points of reference that work at night as well as in the daytime and you will be fine.
I was foolish enough to join an excursion to the Ourika valley which was pleasant because of the nice company, but most of what I thought would be a day out in the mountains was spent stopping at various establishments and shops along the way that I had no real interest in. You would be better off hiring a taxi or driving your own car. That said, the driver was great and I don't really blame them for this. All in all I really recommend this riad.
Great location in the old medina. Hotel with lots of character, real cultural experience by itself. Rooms decorated in Moroccan style, nice courtyard and roof terrace. Staff doesn't speak any English except for the manager, only French, but everybody is very nice and helpful.
Hot water issues, but I assume it's a general problem in medina, so not only in this hotel.
the quietness after the chaos of the Medina
friends having the room on the ground floor complained about loss of privacy and noise of people in the patio
The fabulous roof terraces where you could chill out in the sun. Also, felt there was so much space that you didn't feel like there were other guests staying. Great location too.
The manager (Hassan) was friendly, cheerful and helpful. We were welcomed and looked after well by him and his staff. During our stay we made a trip to the Ourika Valley and the foothills of the Atlas Mountains - well worth going.
The warmth and enthusiasm of the manager. Their willingness to impart assistance.
Lack of services available list, eg snacks, drinks and a price list. Air conditioning had poor in house maintenance. No cart to carry luggage, its 250 meters to the car drop off through poor streets and alleys.
Excellently placed, right in the heart of the souks and only a short walk from the Djamaa El Fna. A delightful experience and insight into the real marrakesh...
