Very close to restaurants and bars. Walking distance to many sights. Clean room and facilities.
The water seems to be a bit sulfuric (probably from how the city gets their water).
Great location not so great staff
The room was large and had a full kitchen. Right in main area of city.
The desk staff were very rude with the exception. Of the night desk person who was great. The day staff were very disrespectful and could have cared less about customer service.
Very clean and modern. I didn't realize it had a kitchen included. Perfect location, quiet but on a nice street right in the middle of everything. Good Buffett breakfast. Good security. Good heating.
We were upgraded on arrival to studio apartment which was a nice surprise .good location for town centre .good choices of restaurants nearby .
Having to pay to park your car even though it belonged to the hotel . Very expensive for all the bars and restaurants .
Central with Value!
Best location for shopping, central to the city. Complimentary breakfast is a great way to start the day--so convenient! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again!
Although I didn't experience any noise (staying early in the week), I could foresee noise issues near the weekend and in the summer.
We booked a double room and it was really more like a one bedroom. Had a stove and separate seating area, was clean and we had no problems with noise!
Everything. This place was fantastic. The Staff was helpful, the location can't be beat; you're in the middle of town, on the main street. walking distance to shops and restaurants. Nice size room, fridge - really the best value / location we stayed in Iceland. Good breakfast options compared to other places we stayed. Recommended.
Nice, clean, spacious rooms
Great place to stay
The rooms and location were excellent. The breakfast was included but not that impressive.
Tyeblocation, size of the room, value and the included breakfast
No way to wash our clothes, no hot tub and only five channels to choose from
Located the best.
Walking distance to most of towns best sights and restaurants. Felt very safe and the breakfast was great. I would stay here again.
Parking was hard to find. That is to be expected when staying in any downtown area. Dining is expensive everywhere in Iceland. For a one in a lifetime place to see. It was still worth it.
Hotel was walking distance to shopping. Had a small kitchen with burners, microwave, refrigerator and dishes. Stayed 4 nights and made dinner 3 of those nights.Going out to eat very expensive Bonus (supermarket) is just 2 blocks away. Staff is extremely helpful. We arrived at 8am and there was a room ready for us.
Make sure you get to breakfast on time. Close doors exactly at 9:30 and by 9:15 slim pickings on options. It could be that it is early but staff wasn't that welcoming for breakfast. Just basic offerings - toast, cereal, hard boiled eggs, meat, cheese, yogurt. Was fine for us but for those who like a hot breakfast it isn't available They cut fruit in half so for those of you who like to grab and apple for later in the day that isn't an option.
Location and price.
the staff was excellent!
no traditional icelandic dishes at the restaurant of the hotel
The location was excellent. Also, the staff was very helpful during our stay.
very poor breakfast, wlan didn´t work most of the time
centrally situated, nice rooms
the rooms giving on the main street, Laugavekur, are extremely noisy, especially on friday and saturday night. the breakfast is boring and a bit dull.
We loved the apartment in the new building where we stayed the first night of the four we spent at the Hotel Fron.
The room temperature was too high.
One of the staff members at the desk was very helpful in planning our return trip to the airport.
1. Our first room was not even clean when we got there. 2. The room we ultimately stayed in looked junky and absolutely nothing like the rooms on the website when the room was booked. 3. Our room was not cleaned during our stay. 4. The insulation on the walls was non- existent. We could hear every cough, conversation and techno music song that was played in any of the rooms around us. 5. With one exception above, the staff at the desk were rude. 6. The lobby often smelled of smoke which was disgusting. 7. Neither the shower nor the sink drained properly so that taking a shower was more like taking a bath. 8. The bathroom fan didn't work.
Excellent Location - very nice and helpful staff
Ease of check in, early check in, free breakfasts
Some front desk staff were rude when asked for additional keys since the intercom in the apt was broken
