Challis Lodge was more than adequate for our family for a short stay. Our room was clean and comfortable and the Lodge is within easy walking distance to Kings Cross and very close to bus stops etc. We loved the character of the building etc.
We were a bit daunted by the flights of stairs, (Our room was on the top floor) as we arrived in the evening and had several suitcases to lug up the stairs. However this was quickly forgotten and we enjoyed our stay

Noisy on second night,
It was in a beautiful part of the city--apartment houses and hotels, big trees--with restaurants, shopping, atm and bus right close by. And the staff at the desk was very friendly.
The room was tiny! But still a good value. We had a fan and a heater, an electric water pot for coffee, dishes, and a bathroom to ourselves, the bed was comfortable, and the place was very quiet.

It was at walking distance from king cross railway station.
I came to know there by taxi and bus drivers about the notority of area in terms of Brotheals and nigt clubs which being a muslim I did not prefered, but had no choice and time to change.

Nothing the room was dirty, had to ask for clean towels, no service what so ever. We stayed there 6 nights and the room was never cleaned, even not after asking for it. This hotel looks fantastic on the outside, the location is perfect but the service is absolutely crap and dirty!!
