Hospitality, interest and warm welcome from the owners... Very nice breakfast... Excellent location, excellent atmosphere in the room (design & furniture selection was cousy, stylish, warm). Heating was very good, which is really a big deal in freezing Amsterdam winters. Owner's know the city well& share the inside info, they also know what's going on in the city at that moment and they would recommend nice activities according to your interests. They even helped us by keeping our luggage at the hotel after we checked-out -until our train's departure time in the evening-, that way we could tour the city whole day without worrying about our luggage. Tulipa is a perfect boutique hotel. I strongly recommend it, make sure to book in advance:))

Got upgraded to the Canal Room by mistake with great view of the adjacent canal. The owners made us feel very welcomed and spent a lot of time chatting with us and always gave great advice. Lovely room, very modern with high level of extras and attention to detail to make your stay comfortable inc. excellent coffe/tea maker, DVD player, fridge and complimentry beers and bottle of wine. High quality bedding and very modern bathroom inc walk in shower and luxuary bath make this a very romantic home from home. Location is also very good with lots of very nice bars and resturants within a short 5 min walk and easy access to the centre of town by tram or 20 min walk. Overall Excellent and a very memorable visit.

The Canel Room has a great view but suffers a little from outside noise as adjacent to a road and would benifit from secondary double glazing, but very minor issue that would not stop me booking again. For total peace try the Garden room or Suite

I am a very difficult customer to please. I spend hours online trying to find the best hotel for our trip. We came across Tulipa on booking.com and are so pleased we decided to stay there. Everything was just perfect, from the room (with a huge bathroom), to Jan - who was 'going it alone' as his wife Paula was away for the weekend, to the breakfast (again, thanks to Jan) and the location. The only problem is Tulipa is so great and has such wonderful reviews there probably won't be a room available any time in the near future.

Tulipa is a real wow hotel , the room is spacious decorated with retro Swedish furniture. Breakfast of Paula is the best I've ever have ; fresh orange juice , amazing fruits , organic Dutch cheese , Dutch pancake ,etc. it situated in the heart of Amsterdam ,we could reach all the tourist attraction in 10 minutes on foot. Paula ( the owner of the hotel) is so friendly and helpful , we could strongly feel that she loves what she's doing.

We had a great stay at Tulipa. Great spot right by two canals and easy access by bus from the airport. Very warm and welcoming hosts and a superb breakfast!
