Great service and great location.
Wonderful staff!
The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. We had a great stay and felt well taken care of. Rooms are well appointed, will definitely stay here again in the future!
We had no issues.
Not worth the money
Great, attentive staff. Terrific location by the river. Comfortable bed. Lobby Door staff was extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Expensive for what you get. Room a/c is on energy saving computer load management, so it can take ten minutes to respond. River view 7th floor deluxe king Room had one uncomfortable arm chair, and a tiny sliver of a window that allowed one to see the bridge over the river, but, no water or boats. Exercise room was a joke, just A universal and dumbells. Free morning coffee a plus, but offset with tiny cups and mediocre coffee blend. Free evening wine was nice, but unlike far less expensive embassy suites, no snacks offered.
Clean hotel, great location, staff was very accommodating
Honestly, nothing comes to mind.
Great location near the CTA, riverwalk, theaters, shopping. Dog friendly! We have a Lab/Great Dane mix that we took along on a weekend. There is an off leash dog park 2 blocks away.
The parking is expensive if you use the hotel valet. You can save about half if you book a spot at a nearby garage through spothero or another site.
Easy reservations, numerous email reminders, e-checkin with room preference, quick check in and valet service, nice roomy quiet room.
Parking added 30% to the cost of room. The cost of parking in Chicago is a major negative to doing business in the city. The restaurant attached to the hotel ran out of black tea. The waiter indicated it happens frequently. The hotel lobby had no black tea. How can you run out of black tea?
Great Experience
The room was amazing and the location couldn't have been any better. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. The complementary hot chocolate and wine were also amazing.
The only problem I had with the stay is that the hotel parking lot charges $58 a night.
Dog friendly!
disappointed!
one of the two hotel elevators was not working... we were on the 11th floor.. it took nearly 30 minutes each time to get an elevator..the AC was not working . The room was nice and comfortable.. however the AC and the elevator really created a bit of stress for us... the cost for the weekend visit 2 nights was not acceptable given the conditions.. When I asked the front desk clerk to adjust our bill she went on about how they were working on getting the elevator repair but it was difficult on the weekend.. still no satisfaction on my end. SORELY DISAPPOINTED. Margo DOlan dolanmargo@gmail.com
evening cocktail hour not too big
Good Room in a Great Location; oversold amenities
The location can't be beat, and the room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were incredible helpful and welcoming.
The room was advertised as having a special bathtub, a key reason we booked this room. However, the bath wasn't anything special. It was just a typical hotel short tub, not the large tub we were hoping for. I would have paid a premium for a nice tub, but there are no such things at the Monaco, so we were stuck.
The hotel's location was ideal and the staff was courteous, friendly, and helpful especially in providing local recommendations.
We requested and were told we would be receiving a feather-free room but the room we were checked into had feather pillows and a down comforter.
Very comfortable, nice different decoration, excellent service, personnel, complimentary wine between 5-6pm. Few blocks from Billy Eliot's musical (must see!). Great restaurant close by, Catch 35! Nice walk to Mgnif. Mile. Allow 1 hour to airport due to traffic.
nothing
Excellent location, clean comfortable room, polite helpful staff, free wine & snack every evening....
Nothing
Great location. Morning coffee and afternoon wine.
The room was too dark. There is inadequate lighting. Pillows were feather but far too soft.
Location was central to everything and the staff was very helpful. Toilet paper was really poor quality.
Minor problem with the bill that was quickly settled.
Great location and a very good hotel overall
No tea or coffee facilities in the room.
This is a very nice and comfortable hotel. Rooms are nicely decorated and the bed was excellent. Also free WiFi. I will definitely book this hotel again on one of my business trips to Chicago.
We enjoyed the wine reception and the taste breakfast in the adjecent restaurant. The hotel is located right in the heart of Chicago and pleasantlly quiet.
The hotel does not provide slipers.
Stylish, friendly staff, good location. Lovely L'Occetaine toiletries, but putting bath products (those bath "bombs") for sale in the bathroom is tacky. Either offer them as an amenity or don't put them out at all. Same with the "animal" socks. Hotel rooms aren't department stores. Coffee in the lobby was excellent. It would be nice if you could add a small selection of rolls or muffins to complement the coffee. And it would be great if the coffee service was offered until noon or even later.
Asked for and received a quiet room. However, the trade off was a room overlooking a service roof/steakhouse sign, with no view of the beautiful city of Chicago. I would imagine a quiet room can be had without sacrificing a city view. Don't double glazed windows block out noise? The room was dark because of the lack of natural light and somewhat depressing. Prior to my visit I joined the Kimpton club, but the front desk had no record of my membership. Membership is supposed to offer a number of benefits, including preferred newspaper delivered to the room, but I only received the requested ny Times one day out of the three I stayed at the hotel. Pad and pen (I took them with me when I went out) were not replaced during my stay
Very friendly and helpful staff. Large and comfy rooms. Beautifully designed entry way. Wine hour at 5pm was great. Close to shopping, restaurants and museums.
Ended up with a room that had absolutely no view. Room cleaning could have been better, but nothing gross. Those two things made the $190 plus tax per night room a little too expensive.
Everything..great fluffy pancakes at breakfast
I love this hotel. For some reason when I checked in they thought I had requested an adjoining room (I did not)and did not have me scheduled for a room with 2 beds that I had reserved. However they did some juggling and gave me the type of room I had requested.
Kimpton Hotel Monaco is both a gateway and getaway in downtown Chicago, perfectly positioned where skyline, waterfront and culture meet. World-class museums, theaters, shopping and the Riverwalk are yours to explore just beyond our front door. Inside this historic building, enjoy the playfully elegant ambiance of our newly renovated guest rooms (don’t miss our nightly hosted wine hour) and warm, personalized service you won’t experience elsewhere.
