優點： "I've been always flying with U.S. airlines this past several years just because transits are easier. I forgot about how friendly and nicer JAL crews are. Their food is much much better. They served us with a cup of Haagen-Dazs icecream for dessert while a Fatboy is normally served by other airlines. I was impressed by how spacious the foot area of their economy seat is. Because I felt quite comfortable, I slept five hours straight during the flight which is phenomenal to me. I will definitely fly with JAL again!"

Despite our offering of evidence of our other ticket from Osaka to TPE (3/3-3/8 round trip) showing that it was not a no-show, and we have phone records of calling JAL on 3/1. Nevertheless, their customer care center in CHINA was firm that it cannot be done. The money has been wasted. Ridiculous service for a 3,500 business class ticket."

I was forced into a middle seat and was uncomfortable and dehydrated the majority of the trip. Nice girl at baggage check said she'd ask a manager to move me, and to let them know at the gate, but the people at the gate said no. I felt discriminated against because I didn't book through them and/or I'm not Japanese. They historically love to put mushrooms in their food, like a fetish. This left me with one choice for the entree - some version of oyakodon - eggs and chicken. In my box there were two enormous chunks of fat/skin and another unidentifiable part of the chicken, and about the amount of edible chicken as 1 1/2 nuggets from Chick-Fil-A. There was more lotus root than chicken, so basically I had a box of rice and scrambled eggs with garnish. For the second meal, it was the Yoshinoya gyudon - a small serving of thinly sliced beef with rice. If I bought this fresh at a Yoshinoya restaurant, it would cost about $3. It's the rough equivalent of serving you a McDouble - cheap and filling and a coin toss if you get stomach pains. I lost that coin toss. Unless there is a big fare difference or I find out that their reserved seat policies are changed, I will choose ANA or another carrier. I used to enjoy JAL, but I cannot abide by idiotic decisions that seemed designed to punish people for using 3rd-party booking sites or who are not Japanese."

The entire reason I asked is because we got stuck in the last row on the way in with seats that don't recline, which blows for a 12 hour red-eye flight. Instead we got seats that did not recline and a fold out screen that came from the right-hand arm rest. Not the end of the world if one had no choice, but certainly not what I paid for and certainly not what the ticketing counter people stated we were getting (under specific inquiry about the very point). The ticketing counter in particular seems to be skeevy, at best. To the detriment of their own crew, who is left apologizing for things they can do nothing about. As stated, this is a bush league international carrier. Avoid unless you love sleepless nights crossing the international dateline..."

優點： "This was my first time flying ANA (LAX to Haneda and back) and I have to admit it was surprisingly great. I am a pretty tall guy and found the room for my feet in economy to be more than adequate even though i found myself in a middle seat both flights. The flight attendants were extremely attentive, even as my flights were both overnight/red-eyes. The selection of movies available at each seat was pretty good and included your standard Hollywood stuff along with a decent selection of Japanese film, television, and various documentaries. Whether or not subtitles are available for non-Japanese speakers for Japanese language media was kind of hit and miss (I actually did browse around quite a bit), but I was impressed nonetheless. I would warn some western based travelers that they may not find the food to be all that appetizing. I chose the Japanese style option both flights (rice, miso, salad, fish), however I know that had I had any of my family members along for the flight they would have gone with the international option and they probably wouldn't have enjoyed it all that much."

I had to wait for 30 minutes until I finally was able to sneak thru the rope barrier that was placed there after the stewardess left. 優點： "I flew economy and it has everything you need for a flight to Asia. Other carries I used during my trip had small rows but these had enough space for American size. Food was good, service was good, can't ask for much more given what you pay."
缺點： "I flew LAX->Taipei->Singapore round trip. On the leg both ways from Singapore to Taiwan the screen had a USB port which was awesome but for the long pacific flight there was none. You should definetly upgrade those because charging devices is a HUGe plus"
優點： "Our first time with EVA AIR and we would gladly use them again. Very friendly staff - way above average. Entertainment option was very good which is useful in long flights. Excellent on-time performance. Transit process in Asia airports is very well managed - very efficiency and passenger friendly."
缺點： "Opportunity is that seats are worn-out making it not very comfortable. Leg room in economy fair for shorter people (less than 6 feet) but for taller people it becomes uncomfortable in the longer flights."
缺點： "The food was terrible. I've flown on a lot of US-Asia carriers, and the options and quality of the meals on Eva are pretty sad. There are only ever two options for main courses; an Asian and Western one. One meal I had the fish was very tough, practically fossilized. The overall taste and look for all the meals were of substandard budget frozen meals you'd get at a 7-11. The side dishes are perfunctory, mostly inedible (usually some "charcuterie" of cheap, over-salted meat/fish on an afterthought of a salad, plus some weird gelatin mold with corn or whatever random cheap ingredient). The special order meals I had for my young children were pretty acceptable."
缺點： "Why if I order my ticket two months in advance I cannot get a seat assignment?"
優點： "I guess it was a different model plane - I remarked how spacious the seats were on the flight from Kos Angeles, this plane had smaller seats in coach (cheap seats) so it was less comfortable."
優點： "The boarding process was pretty simple - the ground crew were really nice and got everyone boarded in an orderly way even though the boarding was delayed. I would suggest that the crew look at passengers who might have "excessive" carryon and ask them to gate check PRIOR to boarding - not while they're in line boarding - takes FOREVER dealing with that."
缺點： "My son spilled his drink all over him - there was an attendant chatting it up with the passenger in front of us - I asked her for some napkins - she brings back 3 facial tissues and was SUPER annoyed at me for even daring to ask her. I was stuck in my middle seat as the lady in the aisle seat was handicapped and couldn't easily move. I ended up using the blanket from the flight to wipe him down and he had to sit through most of the flight with his pants hanging to dry. Also the service on the return flight was HORRIBLE compared to the flight going to Taipei. Everyone seemed flustered - it's a 10+ hour long flight and the flight wasn't even full. There was NO mid-flight service - snacks? water? Also Coke is NOT Pepsi. I saw coke in the cart - i asked for coke - watched the attendant pour from a Pepsi jar and she just shrugs."

缺點： "flight attendant did not enforce seat assignments (a passenger would not sit in her assigned seat. She should have been kicked off the flight, but was allowed to stay even though another passenger was assigned that seat. That passenger had to sit in a more crowded/uncomfortable seat."
缺點： "The air crew needs to be more polite. If they cannot understand English well they should politely ask to repeat instead of saying "what?" Many of the crew members spoke this way, not just one."
優點： "My family liked the food they served, but I was sensitive to MSG I tried to be careful with what i ate. Fruits taste funny, like the desserts and the entertainment were good."
缺點： "We were TRANSFERRED several times and had to MOVE from one TERMINAL to another like 3 TIMES while waiting for the DEPARTURE time. The travel itself, terrible I was awake the whole trip, I felt like I was shaken the whole time. Or may be it was just me. I was not able to have a good sleep. I was anxious to land right away. Most of the crews are rude lack the sweetness and politeness while serving. JUST BEC we ARE only in ECONOMY? Then maybe then when I get a lot of savings and be able to be in a BUSINESS suite I will be able to see the difference whether they treat people differently or they are JUST plain RUDE. Some are nice enough to smile. But the servers, if you are not happy with what you do find another career. But thank God me and my family are safe and we thanked the crew greeter on our way out."
優點： "The price. Significantly cheaper than our normal ride on EVA through Taipei. Having said that...won't do it again."
缺點： "We travel between the US and Asia a couple of times a year and normally fly on EVA, who has wonderful service and great food. We took Asiana this time because the ticket price was significantly less than EVA. Below are the reasons we won't do it again. 1. The food was awful. My wife had the Asian dishes and I had the Western dishes. Both were well below the quality of food we're used to on EVA. 2. Transit in Seoul. On the way to Bangkok from LA we had 50 minutes to transit Seoul to our next flight. The transit security line was quite long and it was obvious that we, along with a few dozen other passengers, weren't going to be able to make the connection. After much complaining from us and our fellow passengers they ran us through another security line. Rushed to the airplane and made it. On returning to LA from Bangkok it was exactly the opposite. The only option was nearly 8 hours connection in Seoul. But we had plenty of time to negotiate the transit security line. These connect times did not occur because of a last-minute ticket purchase. I purchased these tickets in July for a December/January flight to Bangkok and return. 3. Inflight service was not at the level of EVA. Like any other Asian carrier, the flight attendants were light years ahead of ANY US airline crew, but below the standard of EVA. Waking you up to eat a meal (I typically don't eat dinner at 1AM), etc. I was sleeping with my seat reclined and the flight attendant took it upon herself to upright my seat at meal time and woke me up, presumably so the person in the seat behind me was more comfortable with space to eat their meal, but hey...I purchased the seat to sleep just like the other passenger purchased the seat to eat, so I think I had just as much right to "my space and comfort" as the other passenger did. Just little stuff that doesn't happen on EVA. 4. Inflight entertainment is lacking as compared to EVA. Few movie and TV choices, few game choices. 5. We sat in economy. The seats were not very comfortable. Seems the cushions were thin and it became like sitting on plywood after a while. Legroom on the 747 flight wasn't so great, but there was plenty of legroom on the A380. The A380 seating was still kinda hard, but the legroom sure helped. 6. Boarding process. Poorly organized. Nobody pays a bit of attention to "boarding by row number". Consequently it's a bit of chaos during boarding. The old saying, "you get what you pay for" is true. For a flight of that length I won't choose to save the $200 or so per ticket and will ride on EVA. We've proven to ourselves that EVA is just pretty hard to beat."

缺點： "This airline puts priority on Korean speaking men non Korean women with a helpless child. First of all, my child was too large for the bassinet so I held him the entire time. Fine, I get it's for safety. But to make matters worse, my child had a fever and cried out of discomfort for the first 3 hours of a 10 hour flight. A male passenger complained and instead of defending a mother and a helpless sick child, the flight crew kept insisting ways to make my baby stop crying. Do you think I wanted to hear my child in that much pain? No, of course not. One male crew member told me to take my child to the back of thr aircraft (away from the complaining man). Ummm... I paid for my seat just like everyone else!! To be treated differently just because my baby is crying is HORRIBLE. To top it off, the seats are the worst I've ever sat in. My back and butt were in so much pain from those horrible seats. Bottom line- I will NEVER fly with this airline again after the mistreatment my baby and I received. This airline puts Korean speaking men above anyone else's needs, including a helpless 14 month old who feels horrible and doesn't know how else to communicate pain. I'll add that we were on a 10 hour flight after a 9 hour layover in Incheon and a 4 hour plane ride that was DELAYED from 1:45AM to 3:45AM. We were extremely tired and had been through so much already. If the crew had been more protective of us and understanding to the fact that he's a BABY I would have let the complaints slide. Last note- this airline delayed us 3 separate times. Yes.. 3 separate occasions. Do I need to say anything more?"

The staff on our row weren't pleasant and consistently didn't serve water or any liquids during this long flight."

In LA while getting my luggages from the caroussel, I asked the porters 3 times to help me lift, but they ignored me and just attended to the ones with wheelchairs. Even if I'm not in a wheelchair, I am a seniour, and there are aches already in my body here and there. So that day, my back was aching til the following day. Lesson learned, other airlines are much much better than Asiana when it comes to treatment given to seniours. My first time to try, maybe the last."

On my flight from LA to Seoul, the crew was constantly in the aisles offering water and juice without being summoned by passengers. There were a few times when I wished that someone would come by with water or juice, but didn't want to press the call button to get them. Lunch options as we neared LAX were both Asian style, and a middle-ground option would have been appreciated. On the outbound flight to Seoul we had breakfast options that included pancakes."

缺點： "1.Flight Network said that the transaction was in US dollars. Therefore there shouldn't have been a currency exchange fee from my US bank. However, Flight Network charged Canadian dollars, so my US bank charged me a 3% exchange fee and the Canadian bank charged me another $8 fee resulting in a combined $32 extra to the price.of my ticket. Flight Network was not honest about the currency of the transaction. Kayak should require that Flight Network and any other vendors be honest about the currency of the transaction. 2. The extra 5 hours of layover at Incheon Airport was a total drag. It caused me to miss my connecting flight from LAX to Mexico City, so by the time I got into Mexico City there were no more buses running to Queretaro. I had to book a room in Mexico City at an additional expense and pay for taxi fare that I would not have needed if Asiana Airlines hadn't added 5 extra hours of layover to my trip."
優點： "Clean and crew were excellent and responsive. Good communication and good choices of food. Economy seat seems to be wider and more comfortable than Air China which I flew last April. Also Incheon Airport WiFi was easy to connect compare to China airports."

優點： "Me and my family has been flying with Asiana Airlines whenever we go home for vacation to the Philippines. We had also some relatives that came with us at one time because we told them about how good Asiana services is. It was excellent so to say, however, on this last trip with my family, total of eight passengers including 2 kids - 6 of us travelled on the 18th of December came back on the 13th of January, 2 travelled on the 25th of Dec. came back on the 14th of Jan., we were disappointed that the service/s is not that great anymore."

On top of that, the plane was not properly cleaned as there were some trash in the pockets behind the chairs in front of you and you can tell that the floor were not properly cleaned as there were pieces of paper. Also, the bathroom/s were not properly cleaned. More so the food were not that great anymore, The beef was hard and the chicken was cold. I always pay particular attention to these things for the main reason that my family/relatives has been flying with Asiana and with deteriorating services I think the company should look into the above so customers will continue to fly with Asiana and keep them, if they value their customers."

缺點： "On the flight from LA to Seoul, NOBODY from UNITED or Asiana communicated that we had to re-check in and get new boarding passes, despite being given ALL of our boarding passes when we checked in with UNITED in Austin. When we got in line to board in LA we were told to get new boarding passes; however we were informed that because we had not checked in with Asiana 70 minutes prior to the flight our seats had been cancelled and given to other passengers. What was most alarming was that we were in LA sitting at the boarding gate for 3.5 hours and not one announcement was ever made about rechecking boarding passes or documents. Additionally, I went through all of the information from UNITED and there was nothing in there either. The only information that was provide was to go to a different departure terminal in LA. This caused us incredible stress as I was traveling with my children and did not want to be seated in separate seats for a 13.5 hour flight. It took the gate attendant 40 minutes to get us re-booked and find us three seats together. During this time he failed to communicate or give us any reassurance. Considering I had reserved seats since September I was extremely disappointed with Asiana. As a result, it is doubtful I will ever fly with Asian ever again and will warn every traveler I know to avoid them. In my opinion they have the worst customer service!! I say this with great conviction as I travel internationally for my work to over 15 countries every year."

The "Upma" & "tofu" in the second meal was amazing. (However, see next section for further comments on other meals)"

Please revisit the menu for both meals & try to be a bit more innovative with the taste."

Unlike other flight where meal is just an obligation, Cathay made sure that the taste was very nice too. Full points to them. The quality of seats was good & nice leg space as well. The layover was way shortest as compared to other competitor flights. Overall the experiance was very pleasant & I highly recommend Cathay Pacific."

Cathay has no agent in airport to speak with...must communicate through local airport personnel, who have no information, nor authority to help. Cathay wouldn't track down bag or deliver in readonable amount of time, so we had to go back next day at midnight when nxt plane arrived + hope bags were on it. We were shocked as crew was so organized getting us (people) to connecting flight in Hong Kong. Woman met us at gate and personally led us to connection gate. Only a few gates down in same terminal. In case you're curious: not that we expect Michelin star dining, but the food is dismal. Some of the worst airline food ever. It's like pure sodium + tastes very much like the aluminum can it surely came out of."

The Moon Cake provided to help us celebrate, even though we were traveling, was an added example of why Cathay Pacific is the standard that everyone else is trying to emulate in Tourist class. The L.A.-based cabin crew provided outstanding service throughout the flight. The in-flight service manager made me believe she cared about the quality of the service in the back, which was outstanding. It was as good as a full, 13-hour flight could be. Even the in-seat entertainment was outstanding and reliable."

優點： "Seating in standard coach compared to premium economy on US airlines. The seats reclined back enough that I actually was able to sleep most if the 13-hour flight. Meals were very good for economy. Cabin crew super polite and patient, which I've come to notice as a standard on Cathay. As an example, I have a good intolerance to shrimp/prawn. My outbound flight LAX-HKG, the dinner salad included shrimp. I explained i could not eat the shrimp. The attendant was kind enough to swap it with a leftover vegetarian salad."
缺點： "Trying to setup special meals to avoid food allergies is non-existent. Cathay offers many special meals, excluding food allergies or low-carb. I attempted to call in to Cathay to explain I could not have shrimp/prawn. The rep either did not understand or could not help. I really wished Cathay offered a pre-arrival meal like the other airlines. LAX-HKG and HKG-LAX are 13+ hours. Cathay offers a departure meal and a mid-flight meal. But by arrival time, I was starting to get hungry again. Thank God, I had enough of a layover, even with CBP processing, to grab a quick bite before continuing an additional 6-hours to home with no time to eat."
優點： "Its a long flight from Hong Kong to LAX. It appears that the crew is so organized that it does not appear to be as brutal as it is."
缺點： "Traveling to and from Jakarta on Cathay Pacific the most challenge i had was not being able to hear the movies. There was something wrong each time. The staff tried to repair it with no success. All and all that is a minor thing. Its also a small thing. I wish passengers wouldn't be such slobs. Even tho the crew comes by often and regularly, people leave a mess behind them. Kinda sad. Its as if some feel they are supposed to treat crew like servants. Your staff as always, don't complain just go about there responsibilities with a smile."

缺點： "Pilots apparently forgot the seatbelt sign pretty much the entire flight. Flight attendants were trying to get people to stay seated until it became clear the light was never going off. Literally 1/2 the flight people were just wandering around and the attendants gave up. Seriously guys, on a 10+ hour flight, that's not cool."

優點： "Friendly and hard working staff. Clean aircraft. Decent movie choices. Gluten free meal available, though I can't make a selection for GF Meal + Seafood (pescatarian). I get chicken or meat in GF, and I don't eat either."
缺點： "Boarding is not by row numbers -- this is chaotic with long snaking line. Aircraft Toilets get dirty quickly with urine on the commode and the floor. There needs to be a quick drying wet disinfection system. You must enable Gluten Free meals to come with 3 choices - Veg, Non Veg, Seafood only."

優點： "Food was hot, tasty and nutritious. This time, the crew didn't make faces or roll their eyes when I asked for a snack and the service co-ordinator was visible the entire flight making notes and checking on people."
缺點： "Cramped in cattle class but that's not Cathays fault. I need to earn more to fly comfortably"
優點： "Flight was good, seat was comfy."
缺點： "I did not like that food trays were left at our seats for over an hour after we were done eating. People who had special meals had trays at their seats for well over 90 minutes after they were done eating. Many people were upset with that. They offered more coffee and did other things before picking up trays. It was especially uncomfortable for people who had toddlers with them. People started getting up and bringing their trays to the staff. And the staff seemed annoyed, but I feel passengers had a right to be upset."
優點： "i liked that there was a larger variety of food to choose from and the traditional hong kong style fish was amazing. the seasons greetings cookie was good too. the crew was good in trying to help everyone on board."
缺點： "there was a layover which cathay pacific did not account for as this layover was too short and resulted in me having to take a later flight. that was a real inconvenience which delayed my arrival time in los angeles. that was one of the major tick off during this part of the trip"

缺點： "It seems they ran out of ice cram and the people in the back of the plane did not get any.. Also, overall, crew seemed to pay a bit less attention to the people in the back."
優點： "Cathay Pacific seems to be on time, is pretty well organized, and has nice cabin crews, made more interesting by their diversity."
缺點： "I guess it's not reasonable to expect food to taste better when it is made hours in advance and stored in a warmer or whatever for xxx hours before it is served. But CP does offer a lot of options for special diets."
優點： "I would highly recommend flying Cathay Pacific for your travels to Asia. From the boarding process, service, food and comfort this airline is the only one I will fly from now on!"
