優點: "For an economy flight, it was excellent, even the food on the flight to Japan was exceptionally good. Oddly, that can't be said for the return flight to LA. The crew, however, was great going both ways. The equipment was new and very comfortable."

缺點: "Crew behavior. From boarding to deplaning. Easy to contrast since flight from LA to Japan was JAL, not AA. JAL crew focus was service, AA was typical American crew who seemed 'bothered' by passengers. Interesting announcements from cockpit repeatedly mention they were 'safety stewards'. Ex. Wife used wheelchair from gate to plane door. JAL crew offered assistance to seat ( not needed), followed to seat, checked back before take off, and reminded us before landing to wait for all passengers to deplane. AA crew...NOTHING?! Turned out requested wheelchair assist was not in LA, never showed, supervisor had to assist to bus & door to customs. However, this well may have been a ground mishandle(?). JAL crew offered water, tea, juice multiple times during flight. AA crew set up 'self-serve' drink station at back of plane. What if passenger is not capable of pouring while standing on a plane???!!!! OR if a passenger chose to contaminate/spike the juice carton???!!! Equipment-seats on JAL flight were comfortable & flight entertainment console current. AA, based on multiple passenger comments, seats were ridiculously close & our entertainment consoles looked 10 years old?! (could even get one to activate selected choices! Good thing we were more interested in sleeping.) Summary-IF possible will always try to avoid US crews...and happy to share my specific examples."

缺點: "The return flight operated by American Airlines differed significantly from the initial flight to Tokyo from LA which was on a Japan Airlines plane. The hostesses on the JAL flight were much more gracious and attentive than the American Airlines hostesses. The food on the American flight was so bad that I threw most of it away….greatly contrasting with the good food on the JAL flight. My screen would not function correctly with any of the movies or other entertainment offerings. In the future I would choose a foreign carrier over any American carrier."

Cabin foods are generous, filled with variety and tasting the best among various international airlines that I have experienced between LAX and Taipei, Taiwan in the past ten years. The seat belt on light and bell were kept at minimal, in contrast to other airlines like EVA, China Airlines, Korean Airlines and United Airlines."

優點: "The good: The food was tasty given we were on an airplane. Better entertainment selection than my AA flight to Japan. I prefer the 3-3-3 seat layout to the 2-5-2 because even though I had a middle seat there was only one person to get past in either direction."
缺點: "The bad: The plane was warm. I understand some people get cold, but since blankets are provided I would much prefer a colder plan than a warmer one. The warmth made it hard to sleep, which is a big problem on an overnight flight. JAL does not provide individual air vents to passengers seated where I was. I understand the reason for this, but I wish there was some way to get more comfortable. The seats were standard airline economy seats, roomy enough and with enough legroom for my sub-6-foot frame, but not the most comfortable."

They served us with a cup of Haagen-Dazs icecream for dessert while a Fatboy is normally served by other airlines. I was impressed by how spacious the foot area of their economy seat is. Because I felt quite comfortable, I slept five hours straight during the flight which is phenomenal to me. I will definitely fly with JAL again!"

I like because it has complete collection of James Bond movies onboard. Seat is comfy although the flight encountered many turbulence."

I reported this to the crew, they reset something, it didn't help. 'Sorry.'"

缺點: "Narita to Honolulu sector has not enough food for breakfast noting Honolulu airport has got nothing to offer!!!"

優點: "Thoughtfulness, professionalism, patience and a lot of love put into the service."

缺點: "Variety of entertainment (or lack of), and the flight being continuously delayed. Even though the flight ended up departing just an hour later than initially scheduled, I would rather receive one notification for a 1-hour delay, than four notifications for 15-minute delays."

缺點: "The food wasn’t very good and the quantity of the snack meager. Worse, the crew refused to give a second roll to our 12 year old even which means that either they only have one for each passenger (and every passenger had theirs) or the crew are parsimonious."

優點: "The cabin crew was always found to be welcoming and co-operative attitude. Rest Rooms (Toilets) were found to be clean whenever visited."

優點: "Food was ok for economy and they bring more coffee when you ask. The flight wasn’t so full so the seat next to me was empty and also I could sit in the exit isle to work on my laptop"

優點: "I expected Cathay to be great since it was ranked as the #4 best airlines in the world."
缺點: "However, I didn't find anything better than mediocre airlines. The attendant was kinda cold, service was rough, and toilets get dirty quickly."

優點: "The pilot kept us informed. The food was good. The Moon Cake provided to help us celebrate, even though we were traveling, was an added example of why Cathay Pacific is the standard that everyone else is trying to emulate in Tourist class. The L.A.-based cabin crew provided outstanding service throughout the flight. The in-flight service manager made me believe she cared about the quality of the service in the back, which was outstanding. It was as good as a full, 13-hour flight could be. Even the in-seat entertainment was outstanding and reliable."
缺點: "The boarding process in Hong Kong was terrible. It was absolute chaos. If it had not been for then complete turn around after we were on the plane, it would have been the beginning of the flight from hell."

優點: "Seating in standard coach compared to premium economy on US airlines. The seats reclined back enough that I actually was able to sleep most if the 13-hour flight. Meals were very good for economy. Cabin crew super polite and patient, which I've come to notice as a standard on Cathay. As an example, I have a good intolerance to shrimp/prawn. My outbound flight LAX-HKG, the dinner salad included shrimp. I explained i could not eat the shrimp. The attendant was kind enough to swap it with a leftover vegetarian salad."
缺點: "Trying to setup special meals to avoid food allergies is non-existent. Cathay offers many special meals, excluding food allergies or low-carb. I attempted to call in to Cathay to explain I could not have shrimp/prawn. The rep either did not understand or could not help. I really wished Cathay offered a pre-arrival meal like the other airlines. LAX-HKG and HKG-LAX are 13+ hours. Cathay offers a departure meal and a mid-flight meal. But by arrival time, I was starting to get hungry again. Thank God, I had enough of a layover, even with CBP processing, to grab a quick bite before continuing an additional 6-hours to home with no time to eat."

優點: "Overall, excellent service for its Marco Polo club member! I paid USD $100 to join the club. And it is much better than my experience with EVA (diamond member, 4 yrs) and United (gold member)."

All and all that is a minor thing. Its also a small thing. I wish passengers wouldn't be such slobs. Even tho the crew comes by often and regularly, people leave a mess behind them. Kinda sad. Its as if some feel they are supposed to treat crew like servants. Your staff as always, don't complain just go about there responsibilities with a smile."

優點: "The booking crew was excellent, and helped me avoid delays that were caused by heavy rain in Taiwan the day of my travel so I could make my connection."

優點: "Friendly and hard working staff. Clean aircraft. Decent movie choices. Gluten free meal available, though I can't make a selection for GF Meal + Seafood (pescatarian). I get chicken or meat in GF, and I don't eat either."
缺點: "Boarding is not by row numbers -- this is chaotic with long snaking line. Aircraft Toilets get dirty quickly with urine on the commode and the floor. There needs to be a quick drying wet disinfection system. You must enable Gluten Free meals to come with 3 choices - Veg, Non Veg, Seafood only."

However when I brushed my teeth in the restroom, it did not have that horrid smell and taste as the drinking water did. Two inflight staff was rude, Didn't get their names but both ladies blocked passengers way when they were trying to get back to their seats and rolled their eyes at a lot of passengers for various requests. Completely not professional!"

優點: "Food was hot, tasty and nutritious. This time, the crew didn't make faces or roll their eyes when I asked for a snack and the service co-ordinator was visible the entire flight making notes and checking on people."

People started getting up and bringing their trays to the staff. And the staff seemed annoyed, but I feel passengers had a right to be upset."

缺點: "More often than not, Philippine Airlines has been our airline of choice because we found their rates to be fair and flights direct and easy. Despite the fact that the PAL terminal was pretty poor, and the food on board was never really decent, we remained loyal to PAL for quite a few years. On our way back to Melbourne from Manila on June 17, Saturday, Colin, Hendrix and I were awaiting boarding at gate 10 for flight PR 209. Having flown with PAL from Melbourne to Manila (as well as with another airline from Manila to Manchester and back), we understood that the usual procedure was to allow passengers with infants to board first. Due to the lack of order (there were no clear queues in sight), Colin decided to ask 3 different PAL personnel if there was, indeed, a priority queue for people travelling with infants. ALL THREE PERSONNEL ASSURED US THAT THEY WERE NOT YET BOARDING AND THAT WE WOULD BE CALLED UPON PRIOR TO THEM LETTING ANYONE ELSE ON THE PLANE. 2 minutes later, a PAL personnel appears with signage that reads certain row numbers and begins to call out to ALL PASSENGERS FOR BOARDING. Colin swiftly rushes to the front (me and baby in tow) and demands an explanation as to why we were told one thing but are watching them act upon something completely different. I wish I was joking when I tell you that the personnel just stared blankly at us and then carried on checking boarding passes. No apologies, no explanation offered. As soon as we boarded, Colin turned to the first flight steward he saw and asked for a complaint form and told this could ONLY be done online, to which Colin requested we be given the email/web address upon take off. The seats assigned to us were on the right most side of the aircraft, a window and a middle seat. As Colin was placing our bags in the overhead compartment, the steward called to Colin from across the aisle (past the 3 seats in the middle of the plane) to introduce the purser, Jolly Bello. Please note this was happening while people were also trying to get past and get to their seats -and Mr. bello called out across the aisle, "I heard you have a complaint??" to which Colin, baffled, replied "yes do you want to come over here so we aren’t shouting over these people?". Colin yet again told this purser what the complaint was about and was asked (verbatim) "so would you like to make a complaint against THEM?" Would the correct protocol not be to 1. Apologise for any confusion, miscommunication or poor service, 2. Take some responsibility and acknowledge the complaint and 3. Maybe come approach us AFTER TAKE OFF and not while everyone is trying to board the plane? We are no longer choosing Philippine Airlines."

The inflight main "meal" consisted of rice, vegetables and seven pieces of unidentifiable meat which was each perfectly dimentional, having been cut by a mechanical processor. To be fair, there was ice cream offered, but i didnt want iit. There are better alternatives."

I was trying to be patient and not bother anyone, and that was where I went wrong. I should have been more vigilant because they certainly don't go out of their way to help you at American Airlines. When I finally asked the woman at the desk when we were boarding for LA, she told me the gate had moved and was about to close, so I ran to the other gate right as they were closing the doors. The plane was still there, but they wouldn't let me through the gate. I remained calm and explained that I had a ticket for this flight. I didn't feel even the slightest bit of empathy coming from them. They put me on a long list of standby passengers, and I had to wait for several more hours until I finally got on a flight. During that time, the crew at the desks were so unfriendly and dismissive, I decided I did not want to support American Airlines again. This was the first time I had a major problem with an airline company. I tend to be a stress-free traveler, but this was a pretty awful experience overall."

I told her I still have 45 minutes to make it, and she rudely just tells me to get in another line to pay for a new ticket. LUCKILY someone in the priority line saw I was having a problem, a customer not an agent, and she told me to try to talk to someone on her side. After 3 agents told me no one finally told me yes. I made my flight but just by a hair. If the agents would have been around to help or been willing to help me from the moment I spoke to them this would not have been a problem. Thanks for almost ruining Christmas for me. When I spoke to others everyone told me they always have issues with AA. Will never fly AA again."

We paid for own our room and returned at 11am as instructed, but the plane needed a part that had to be shipped from the U.S. which pushed our scheduled departure from 2pm to at least 9pm. My family grabbed a bus to Narita for a 6:30pm flight. C'MON AMERICAN AIRLINES! COULD YOU SERIOUSLY NOT GET ANOTHER PLANE TO HANEDA?? OR AT LEAST PAY FOR OUR HOTEL?? The ground crew at Haneda was very kind but overwhelmed. Terrible experience. And it's the reason I don't fly American. In fact, KAYAK, I booked our flights on JAL intentionally to avoid American. The fact that these were partner flights on American completely and unpleasantly surprised me...also not a good experience."

優點: "The staff were all quite polite and helpful"
缺點: "the boarding process is chaotic. No one pays attention to the boarding numbers and it's just a big, pushing, shoving mess. I'd like to see a little more use of the system to keep.people more orderly."

缺點: "American Airlines isn't as friendly or accommodating as other airlines or staff."

優點: "Medical emergency response and support was excellent."
缺點: "No pre-boarding for infant. Straight legroom in 13D still had seat in front recline into my knees at 6'5". Extra legroom purchase did not provide any extra legroom. Need to know what seats provide extra legroom for 6'5" tall passengers."

優點: "They were very professional and very welcoming. Made my eleven hour flight feel short with the entertainment the airline provide and the delicious meals that were provided. Definitely will be flying again with American Airlines for my next flight."
缺點: "Can't complain. Pleased."
