My flight was from Dallas-Atlanta.
My trip was very good on Japan Airlines. I used the wheelchair service and everyone was very helpful! The food was a step down from what I experienced before when a Japanese choice was offered.
Trash they booked a flight that was non existent had to call credit card company for chargeback. Do not fly with them or book through kayak they will cancel ur flight without notification
I book my tickets thru kayak.com and when we are boarding, 6 of us sit in 6 different places. I have 3 kids and a senior mother. The crew are nice, but not willing to work with other passengers to change the sit for us. Kayak didn't send the seat assignment ahead so I didn't know we are not sitting together. Specially 11 hrs flight. ☹️
It was very frustrating experience with Kayak and Japan Airlines. Chatdeal with Kayak has handled the issue in a very unprofessional manner. I had booked japan airlines from San Diego to Bengaluru via narita on Nov 21. While at San Diego airport , I came to know that japan airlines flight from Narita to Bengaluru was cancelled 2 months ago. The airlines asked me to check with Kayak as they were the primary ticket issuer. Now the issue begins from here : Chatdeal in association with Kayak was my primary ticket issuer. Firstly the customer support number that they had issued was of no use as it would always ask me to connect to representative via chat. So I went over chat over. Now in the chat, the representative were very slow in responding. They took almost 30 min for 1 response. All this while I was at San Diego airport having nowhere to go. Finally after hours of discussion, they said that this matter will be taken care by CHANGE section of chatdeal and they would require 24 hrs to come back. I objected as I was in San Diego airport with nowhere else to go. I decided to book a flight myself at 2.5 times to original cost. Finally I agreed and waited for 24hrs. But they never got back. After couple of days and after multiple attempts to get response over mail, finally they responded just to wait for some more days and its Still on going after 1.5 months. This was one of the worst case of professionalism
I really JAL! Will use again. KAYAK is excellent as well.
優點： "JAL lounge at Haneda was the best I've ever been in. The Business Class configuration is terrific -- as private as can be on an airplane, without going First. And the JAL staff, on the ground as well as in the air, are Grade A diplomats, counselors, and -- in a word -- professionals. Which is sorely lacking in US air carriers, who don't seem to understand that air travel is a service industry, and to excel in a service industry, PEOPLE are most important to the customers. Specifically, having enough people: US airline employees are well-trained professionals too, but "corporate" consistently under-hires/deploys, which leaves employees juggling far too much at once, which degrades the service experience for the customer. Yeah, I get "the bottom line," but service industry customers will always go to businesses that offer better service. Ok, rant over. JAL is tops."
缺點： "Security and Immigration at Tokyo Haneda is harder than at US airports, but that's to be expected and nothing that JAL can control."
優點： "The crew was attentive and service was excellent."
缺點： "At check-in counter in MNL, the JAL agent mistakenly told me that I don't need to claim my bag and re-check at DFW before heading to final destination MEM. Food wasn't as good as previous JAL flights earlier this year and last year. That said, it's still better than other airlines."

Not a good way to represent your airline."

優點： "The good: The food was tasty given we were on an airplane. Better entertainment selection than my AA flight to Japan. I prefer the 3-3-3 seat layout to the 2-5-2 because even though I had a middle seat there was only one person to get past in either direction."
缺點： "The bad: The plane was warm. I understand some people get cold, but since blankets are provided I would much prefer a colder plan than a warmer one. The warmth made it hard to sleep, which is a big problem on an overnight flight. JAL does not provide individual air vents to passengers seated where I was. I understand the reason for this, but I wish there was some way to get more comfortable. The seats were standard airline economy seats, roomy enough and with enough legroom for my sub-6-foot frame, but not the most comfortable."

Given it is a Japanese airline and all, it is normal for them to be Japanese-centric. We had an a-hole sitting in front of us at 51F during our flight to Narita and he was trying hard to argue with us in English, and even told us to move to another seat. When I had the flight attendant (her name is Sako on flight JL736 on Jul 26) over to discuss (in English) she went to the guy in front of us and started apologizing to him. For what??? She then came back to us speaking in Japanese and brushed the issue away. Sorry, no this was not acceptable, even though my fiance was okay with the situation."
優點： "As always on JAL 787-8 long haul flights, the crew was very courteous, entertainment was varied, food was alright and seats were better than some."
