The location is amazing
My room was smell strong and the floor looks like dirty.
Proximity and price
Shared bathroom, no shower, ridiculous sink in the room. Sheets clean but stained. Bad lightning. very loud smashing doors. carpet not cleaned well.
The staff is nice, and the price includes breakfast.
The room was tiny, the area must be one of the worst in San Francisco. They charged mt debit card with an extra 50 dollars as depisir and I have to wait 3 days to get it back (if I get it back in the end). We parked in the next street, and when I went for the car in the morning, someone was looking into it. My friend saw that policeman were in a shop where blood was on the floor. Avoid this area.
I have stayed 6 days. Nobody cleaned the room. But staf are friendly..
Friendly staff. Great location at walking distance of Powell station.
I didn't know bathroom was shared, I found out once there. No house keeping, you have to take care of your bedroom.
Near the center city
Located in a noisy quarter and badly frequented.
rooms were decent. considering the area, it felt safe. Staff was friendly - nice people all of them.
Location: There's a drug needle exchange across the street! Lots of homeless people all over the area. Loud screaming partying people could be heard from 6 - 9 pm every day!! No air conditioning. I stayed 5 nights, they don't clean the rooms! It's a budget room.
The low price, of course! Really a pretty good value--very close access to everything, pretty quiet and easy to sleep, and the hallway bathrooms were remarkably clean!
The area can be a bit sketchy late at night, so just be aware of surroundings. And I am not too crazy about the whole "bathhouse style" of towel exchange. Would much rather have a couple nice bath and hand towels in the room to start and go from there. Could also use a few more hooks and hangers in the rooms.
need to put at least 4 bathroom/ shower . I noticed that there was only 2 shower room in each floor.
The position is 400 meters away from the center of San Francisco (Powel and Market st). The area is not so beatifull... If you are 2 or more guys there's non problem, but if you are one of two girls is not good for you to come back in the Hotel in the dark...
The name is Pontiac Hotel, but I think that is better to call it an hostel. The room is not so big and the bed is not for 2 people, but for one ad a half. The towels and the bed is never been changed in the 5 days in witch we stayed there. The continental breakfast is only some muffins and fruit with a coffee.
the location is near to cable car, but in the dark it' not really safe. the bath and toilet is not in the room, but clean
Although this hotel was not far from the main Downtown area, it was not in an area that I would advise others to stay in. The room itself was not clean or spacious; it had a continual beeping from the smoke alarm which we were told could not be fixed. Frankly we felt unsafe and threatened in the short time we spent at the hotel - we moved out before even spending a night there.
The staff was very nice, very helpful; I get the feeling this is a family owned and run place, and that they keep an eye on things. Hall bathrooms and showers were kept very clean.
While it is a very close in and convenient location to things, it is a little sketchy after dark. Be advised to stay aware of your surroundings. It is older and not fancy, so very popular witht the younger and international crowd because of the low cost. Not really a bad thing, though.
With a stay at Minna Hotel in San Francisco (Downtown San Francisco), you'll be a 4-minute walk from Warfield Theater and 9 minutes by foot from Orpheum Theater. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and an elevator.
