Birthday stay at gaslamp
It was a well maintained and lavish hotel with nice decor and beautiful rooftop view. Friendly staff gave me a free champagne bottle for my birthday
I booked my room ahead of time, and reserved it for 3 of my friends for $179, which I thought was a good deal. 2 my other friends decide to show up and booked a room last minute literally at the check in counter. Not only did they get a much larger suite room with 2 beds a separate living room, 2 baths, a vanity area and a larger TV THEY PAID LESS THAN I DID. They paid around $140 for a high end suite. What kind of hotel policy is that? I should have canceled my room and stayed with them. There was enough room for 5. While my room didn’t have what was advertised in the reservation posting. Unbelievable. Also the “free” breakfast was some lousy raisin oats cereal, yogurt, and bread.
Staff was kinda of rude. Valet was rude and expensive!!
First room was tiny but was able to move to a suite and very nice. Good location.
The first room was a mini suite but was tiny.
Guest Services gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary & birthday. The room was very spacious and they upgraded us.
The location was at the epicenter of the Gaslamp District. Perhaps if we didn't have a baby w/ us, we wouldn't have minded, but the noise from outside was extremely loud until about 3:00am. Again, if we didn't have a baby w/ us, we probably would have been down there but it was very hard to get rest and the baby kept waking up as well. We stayed here with the intention of staying close to the zoo. But this is not a great place for families. Good place to stay if you're planning on staying up late and partying at the Gaslamp District. The rooms had a funky smell too - especially the bathroom. But then again the building is really old.
The suit was very good and the staff wer excellent
Saturday nights are noisey
Excellent location, free breakfast on rooftop, suites very comfortable, everything worked.
The free breakfast on the roof was a pleasant surprise.
The price for overnight parking is pretty expensive. I believe it's roughly the same as any other place I've stayed in the Gaslamp, but it's still a lot.
Hotel is beautifully appointed, and is very reminiscent of a European style of hotel. Downtown location is convenient to nearly everything, and the area bustles with excitement on weekend evenings. The Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
We liked it all.... just be prepared for an active social scene outside your window on the weekends!
Very very good hotel I like it
Gaslamp Plaza Suites is a very nice boutique hotel. Wonderful rooms and views from the suites. The location is great!
Comfort hotel situated in the heart of the historic Gaslamp area. Great.
The location was very good for our purposes, business and shopping. The building was interesting. The amenities were a bit lacking (ie. no shampoo or soap in our room). The view from our room was very nice.
The breakfast was not good though we enjoyed the rooftop dining. We wonered if something could be done about the noise from the airconditioning/heating unit on the roof.
amazing location, friendly staff and really really nice rooms.i would a million percent recommend this place.i had the best time ever!
