Bed was the best thing about staywh
When checking in the clerk was more interested in talking to a friend on the phone than helping me. No charging ports in room. No handrails in bath, water pressure was good.
The staff were great! From house keeper kim to Billy and Mrs. Dee at the front desk. They were helpfully and very very nice
The bathroom needed to be redone black mold was in ceiling above the shower and the sink was dirty
You get what you pay for
This place was $48/night so I wasn't expecting much - and I didn't get much. The room was clean but everything was showing its age with rust on the chrome lamps, the tissue box holder, the sink, faucet, etc. The shower curtain rail was sagging badly so I had to jam a facecloth in the ring to keep the curtain flush against the wall. But everything worked, tv, lights, clock and that's all I cared about. Breakfast was OK if you like cereal or waffles.
The location is good and it was easily accessible. The staff was friendly; they always said "hello" or "good morning" when we passed them. They are flexible; we needed to check in early and that wasn't a problem nor did they charge an extra fee. Also, the girl working the front desk had a difficult/demanding customer ahead of us and she handled him very professionally and kindly. That was very impressive, and immediately put me at ease knowing we were staying with very friendly people.
Although our room was clean for the most part, the room and most of the lodge could use a little TLC. The interior is overdue for a paint job and some of the furniture needs replacing; our desk chair had huge stains and one of the drawers were broken (my dad tried to fix it even though we didn't break it, because it was bothering him and he's the handy type). The shower had a fairly large crack in the wall and it kind of needed a good scrubbing. The toilet in our room liked to run forever after flushing (but my dad fixed that too). None of this takes away from an overall pleasant stay, it's just things that I'd change to make it better.
