It was all beautifully decorated over the Christmas period. Staff were friendly and incredibly personable. Opposite central train station making for great access. If possible don't drive to Exeter as parking can be expensive. Instead train it in as the hotel is literally 100m from the station.
The car park is a weird one. Incredibly tight to manoeuvre around. Luckily it was quiet when we stayed it I can imagine if it was busier it could be a real frustration.
Nice Building, good location
Couldnt find my reservation, 1st room we were given had not been cleaned and breakfast poor quality
Comfortable bed; polite, friendly staff
Towel rail didn't seem to be working, even when I found where to switch it on!
... after a night out we returned to hotel & decided to have a night cap @ bar. The bar man (Andy) was particularly friendly & professional. We had mentioned not having a kettle in the room, which we had thought was odd & in the morning there was a note under the door, explaining that the kettle was kept in a drawer! There are not many staff who would've bothered and we were very impressed by this personal attention to our enquiry, it made all the difference to our stay. All staff were friendly but he was particularly good. The bed was very comfortable.
The room was a little tatty & in need of modernising. At first glance we could see that two single beds had been pushed together to make a double (despite having booked a double room), however this wasn't a particularly bad point as it meant the bed was massive! (A valance on the bed would've easily disguised this & not made it so obvious) The price list of food seemed very over priced £12.95 for burger & chips! For that price we would've expected very good food indeed but we were put off eating in the hotel because of the pricing so can not comment on its standards.
A beautiful building - lovely staircase and stained-glass windows. Very welcoming, friendly staff. Good breakfast.
The walls are very thin - could hear every noise from the corridor and next rooms. The car park is very tiny and difficult to get in and out of.
The attention of the front desk personnel was outstanding, courteous and attending to my needs. I arrived late at night and was treated with excellence.
The interior layout is complicated and there are insufficient signs to indicate the way to rooms, lifts and escape.
Newly decorated room was excellent - beds extremely comfortable
Bars and restaurant (both decor and breakfast) did not match quality of rooms
everything was just perfect.
Friendly staff , clean and good food.
A lot of early morning outside noise.
Great location for exploring Exeter and it's surrounding areas
Inconvenient parking arrangements.
The breakfast was very varied and good
