Breakfast was gross.
my kayak reservation did not appear in the hotel que, according to management. Because i was forced to make the reservation thru the hotel, i was required to provide the manager with a valid credit card. Mine was damaged and ultimately the manager refused to honor my original reservation even though i had proof of confirmed payment via kayak. So after spending the previous six nights there without issue, i was forced to collect all of my belongings and spend the next four hours in the lobby waiting for a friend to drive to where i was...this would have been my last night to stay & my prearranged transportation would have already been ready for me. Also, because I had to leave early, i was docked a day of pay. Horrible experience.
Beds were nice and soft. Although the building was obviously older, the furnishings in the room didn't look bad. The breakfast was as expected.
Booked room through Kayak and included number of guests (4). Upon arriving, the hotel clerk told me I had to pay more than the price on Kayak due to the number of guests. I'm not sure who was at fault here, but I think the hotel should have honored the rate and dealt with Kayak to figure it out. Also, I asked the same lady for some hot water to melt ice that had accumulated on my car. She was right next to a sink, but told me I could get some from my (upstairs) room. Not very helpful. The latch on our door did not always catch, and was a security hazard. I forgot to mention it to the front desk, but it's a product of the age of the building. There was a freak ice storm the night before we left, and while not the fault of the hotel, the fact that it is on top of a hill made getting down to the street a little dangerous.
